When I'm not visiting theme parks I tend to gravitate towards adventure activities and scare attractions. Adventure activities can be quite pricey (£45 for a 90 minute lesson at surf snowdonia) but you're taking a life skill away from it, as well as using specialist equipment.
With scare attractions the value entirely depends on what floats your boat and how expensive you go. As cheap as £2 to £100+ for the likes of Cracked vs Heretic. One off installations can be very good, Seance at Birmingham Rep was around £6/£8 and quite unlike any experience I'd ever tried before. Obviously the big difference with scare attractions is that the experience lasts from a few minutes up to six hours, not a full day.
