It fails to address why the company (TPWW) blocked / removed people who were talking and asking questions about what was going on.
The questions were being ignored and revenue is still being made by the team while silencing others who were bringing the attention to the issue.

I feel TPWW should not be at any parks until this investigation is complete, and that as a company that makes alot of money from media crearion the team should follow the law on filming.

I as a filmmaker want to point out that if you generate an income from your films you are legally required to ask for written permission to film on the land owners property. And if you ask anyone any questions (did you like the ride, how was it for you etc?) You must have a release form signed or a verbal agreement recorded before or after filming. If they fail to do this then the person's filmed can request the contents of the appearance to be removed. (Edited out) .

They also do class themselves as media as they have been to many media and press events and have had the perks that come with that.

If I were Merlin I would add to the terms of entry that any vloggers who create money generating media content on their property must contact a senior member of staff to gain written permission to film on their premises. This way you can block vloggers who seek to profit from Merlin, you keep small scale vloggers happy and you can still have large vloggers onsite but controlled. It's not perfect but that way your not stopping the community but your able to keep safety controls.

It makes me question what safety procedures are in place by the parks themselves and especially as some have worked within the park.

Towers / Merlin’s T&C’s say this

Unless it is expressly prohibited, you are permitted to take photographs and recordings within the Attraction provided that these are solely for private use and are not sold or used for any commercial or public purpose. By accepting these Entry Conditions, you acknowledge that Merlin may on demand have access to photographs taken and video footage captured by you and request that certain photographs and/or footage are deleted if they are deemed to be offensive to or infringe the privacy of other guests and/or staff. By accepting these Entry Conditions, you agree not to intentionally photograph and/or capture video footage of any individual without that person’s permission and you must adhere to all photography/filming restrictions in place from time to time whilst within the Attraction. From time to time Merlin or other authorised parties carry out photography and/or video recording in the Attraction, which may feature guests. Entry to the Attraction is deemed acceptance of these Entry Conditions, and you therefore agree that Merlin or any authorised party may use such images in perpetuity in any promotional, advertising or publicity material in any format whatsoever. You further agree that copyright in these materials rests with Merlin or such authorised party (as the case may be).

This is why I said above it seems like the usual Response they have given so far. All they have done is changed it to the individuals are removed from filming. Yes it’s a step in the right direction but I would of liked to seen them actually say they are appalled or something along those lines of the allegations. The stuff involving Shaun could well be faked but that has nothing to do with the investigation so I don’t get why he hasn’t come out and said it was faked. It’s a long rocky road for tpww.

I have remained silent on this issue because I've never watched Theme Park Worldwide. The allegations are one thing, people should be encouraged to speak up but ultimately whether they're true or not is a matter for the police to investigate. What really doesn't sit right with me is the hiding of comments by TPWW. The statement is a step in the right direction but they should have acknowledged the accusations straight away. Unfortunately I think they've caused irreparable damage to their brand by remaining silent until now.

Well then do you think Merlin should then refuse entry to him. Or request footage is removed that's taken within their attractions. If he refuses then overnight he's just closed his channel.

Oh I agree 100%. I'm bringing in the media law issues because it is one thing to have a statement but another that it takes so much pressure for them to say anything.

It does not even feel as if it's condoned. How would TPWW like it if their content was deleted because of their views?

I predict it's going to blow up bigger, get nasty on location and they will not be able to do anything untill there is a clean break and maybe a rebrand. It's gone beyond brand damage limitation.

I think Shaun should actually just step back for a few weeks and don’t vlog and let it settle down a tad. But unfortunately he won’t and will keep vlogging so it’s a tough one but I think for the time being parks should be asking him not to film while this is going on as it could be bad publicity for them.

I really do hope the attractions that are getting messages are taking note. As you said there is a chance this will spill out if TPWW are on site and people make a scene.

There’s nothing wrong in taking a break from it all so I don’t understand why TPWW have the attitude of show must go on. I guess tomorrow will tell if they actually go ahead with the visit.
 
Merlin could quite easily forbid him from recording on their premises as it's already covered by their Terms and Conditions, but you might then question why other vloggers should be allowed to continue. You open up a whole can of legal worms.

I suspect any action will just go as far as distancing themselves from TPW, at least until the investigations are concluded. These vloggers are, after all, just guests who turn up and record. They are not affiliated with or endorsed by the parks.

Well as per their terms that @ringo posted above, any photography/filming for commercial purposes is prohibited anyway, so unless vloggers contact the press office and seek permission to film anyway I don't think they should be allowed to, and that goes for all vloggers who monetise on YouTube.
 
Could the fact of Alton towers unfollowing tpww be a sign of something going on behind the scenes?. Saying that as I always say no knows what’s going on behind the scenes but something must of happened for them to come out with this.

I have a feeling that he will use social distancing as an excuse to keep vlogging, thinking that people will stay away because of the rules. In reality, if someone had strong feelings about all of this there's nothing stopping them having a go at him. He really should take a bit of time off and get it sorted before vlogging again, but knowing what he's like they'll probably just hire a bodyguard if it gets worse.

The simple answer is that all vloggers who at least attempt to make money should be treated the same as all other press/media and ask for permission before filming. There shouldn't be any difference between treatment of TPWW and ITV News.

Where sites (such as TowersStreet) are taking images for non-commercial use on their social media I think it is fine, as to my knowledge TS doesn't make any income from their Facebook or Instagram.

If the press ever do a story on this then that’s the end of tpww. Not every one reads twitter or sees everything posted but once it’s all out for everyone to read then there’s no way they can handle the wave of negativity. They are struggling right now to handle the situation how do you reckon they will handle The negativity of it ends up in the press.

I'd have thought this too, but then reading the T&Cs it says commercial and public use, which covers public social media feeds. However maybe that's just a clause in case something they don't like gets posted, I can't imagine they'd want to take down every photo/video posted online ever, if anything they seem to encourage it.

However when it comes to vlogger channels I agree, they're doing it for income and this makes the context quite different.

In general I really hope the power structures around huge vlog channels gets wound down now. People sadly put far too much faith into people they've never met, just because they made some cute videos on YouTube. Parks supporting all these channels too as if Shawn is suddenly their mascot. Until recently their fans would never have even entertained the idea of what's come out now.

This whole thing has been really unsettling to watch unfold. Rumours about this sort of thing were already common among enthusiasts (about other channels), which was already disheartening, it's horrid to see how widespread the behaviour actually is.
