May have nothing to do with the allegations, don't forget that the police did investigate the allegations and no further action was to be taken, so case close. Plus these allegations were against people who are no longer appearing in his vlogs.

Don't forget that we are in the middle of a pandemic and this has been a very strange year. Perhaps TPWW like the rest of us MAP holders, are having difficulties in getting pre-booked tickets? May be he is not comfortable with the social distancing or lack of social distancing at the major theme parks, so decided to visit the less popular parks, not only to give them support, but because the social distancing in these less popular parks is a lot easier and safer to do so.
 
It certainly isn't because of concerns about ineffective Social Distancing, he has heen to several parks where there has not been any, and got all the credits as well as highlighting that.

I would just take it at face value, TPW are just trying to keep their audience (and themselves) interested by going the less predictable places.

You have to remember though, there were some allegations made against him with regard to racism and ableism.

I'm not sure what's gone on personally and I won't speculate, but the fact he's not attending Oktoberfest and is unlikely to attend Scarefest is extremely unusual. He's always made a huge thing out of Merlin events.

Yes I think the same . It’s not the allegations about others that were in tpww but the racism and ableism allegations .

Then that is a matter for the police to deal with as appose to an online kangaroo court

His pass might have run out and decided not to renew. At the moment you are not getting value from these passes, you only have to look at the no end of complaints on FB about people not being able to use their pass as slot have been fully booked out, but can purchase an on the gate ticket.

The last I've heard of Shawn, was that he has recently walked up Ben Nevis

Oh I know, it's just that there were allegations put out there along with screenshots of messages which he refused to comment on. While some may take this with a pinch of salt, others will treat this seriously even without any police involvement. Racial tension is at it's highest with recent events, so while it may not seem likely that this is the reason he's not attending Merlin parks, it can't be discounted.

I do take your point with regard to struggling to get tickets for AT, however he didn't struggle to get tickets for opening day at Towers, despite being at another park when the tickets were released (and sold out extremely quickly). I do think he has a certain amount of "pull" when it comes to his channel, and I'd be surprised if he wasn't able to get any tickets when he wants them. After all, his channel is basically free press for Merlin.

Personally, I've cancelled my MAP because of the ticket fiasco so I get any sort of annoyance with it.

It's a police matter and it's up to the police to investigate it. Screenshots can't be used as evidence as they can be edited. The police and courts will need to see the actual messages so they can fully investigate them properly as well as to verify who sent them and when. When I my self have dealt with legal matters, I had to be able to have the original evidence to hand as oppose to the copies.

In law, any allegations have to be backed up with proof, either hard evidence or have independent witnesses. The allege victims either deleted their text messages or posted details about the offence on line. They also collaborated with each other. As soon as they post details about the offence on line as well as communicated with each other, they no longer became independent witnesses. TPWW are under no obligations to comment and would have been strongly advised not to.

The police are not taking this any further, case close. Does it matter weather TPWW is currently vlogging at a Merlin park or not? That is his choice. If he has fallen out with Merlin or not, again that is his business, nothing to do with us.

If you don't approve of TPWW, then you simply don't watch his vlogs.

I would like to intercept because I think this may go in circles.

We aren't discussing the validity of the accusations (currently) or our desire to watch the channel based on those accusations. We are speculating if the allegations against TPWW and previous members have something to do with the fact that he hasn't been visiting Merlin parks. It might not even be to do with the allegations (like how you've mentioned issues with the pass) but that's fine if it is or isn't, the point being made is that it is very odd for him to not be discussing or attending anything Merlin related, given his track record of previous Merlin coverage. Unless this speculation goes against forums rules, I don't see an issue with us discussing this.

I'm not sure why you've leapt into such a defensive post here. As @Nerdsticks says, we are not discussing the validity of the accusations, more that they may/may not be impacting his decision/ability to currently vlog at Merlin parks.

This is a forum where people are permitted to speculate on such matters, and I don't believe that at any point in my last few posts I've stated I "don't approve".

To avoid this topic going round in circles, let's move on from the allegations as everything is either points that have been made again (and again) or pure speculation. We have been very lenient on allowing this topic to be free flowing concerning the allegations, especially considering Shawn does not post on here to defend anything being suggested.

From here on if we can go back to discussing the actual content being produced by TPWW. Thanks.
 
I do like his adventure Shawn videos and I think his gonna be doing more videos of non theme parks.
I don’t agree with his M&D video which he will be uploading tomorrow as they forced so many people to lose there jobs and without furlough pay and brought the park back for pennies.
I wonder cause he is well known at the Merlin parks he had enough of fans giving him grief and coming up to him when they should have been wearing a mask and keeping there distance.
 
I have to admit I am enjoying the adventure Shawn videos too and someone mentioned that he is climbing Ben Nevis which I hope is true as that would make a good and interesting video. Sometimes a change of direction can be good

If you look at the channel, that is plainly not true. There is only one AT video in the top 10, three in the top 20 from the 180 AT videos TPW has tagged as such.

They might be above average popularity, but the are not the core income stream you are attempting to make out.

Those videos you mention are POVs, off rides, and behind the scenes though. His actual vlog content doesn't show up on highest viewed videos until about 32 videos down the line, where you can see plenty of Merlin parks contending with other big name parks. Also a lot of his most popular videos range from 3-6 years ago.

His non big name vlogs this year are pulling quite evenly distributed views, with the initial Merlin & Blackpool vlogs in July being substantially higher, but I think that's to be expected since there was a lot of buzz with restrictions being lifted and also they are just generally more well known parks. It's hard to judge the "success" of these videos though, we don't know viewer engagement statistics or anything. The point I'm trying to make is, face value it's reasonable to assume that he would probably pull in some viewership if he did some more Merlin vlogs... But this discussion teeters towards restricted territory so it's probably best to leave it there.
