Thoosies...Why the hate?

Are these abbreviations really that different to calling Amanda Thompson 'Mandy'?

No need for the Nemmy abbreviation for Nemesis when Phalanx: The Ride opens. Maybe Phally? Or Lanxy?

As I see it, any ride name with 3 or more syllables is a candidate for shortening. No-ones saying Runaway Mine Train in full every time they need to refer to it. At the lower extreme I generally refer to the two Euro- coasters at EP at Sat & Mir, despite the full name of each having only 7 letters

As far as I know, no one shortens Infusion's name or Chiapas' name even though they have 3 syllables. Fusey and Cheepy anyone? 🤣

I think the I in Chiapas is silent, making it just 2 syllables and therefore a short enough name to say in full (or at least that's the way I've always said it).

Infusion just isn't good enough for anyone to have created an affectionate abbreviation for it

I've always heard people pronounce the I in 'Chiapas' but perhaps they're incorrect.

This is also a crime. It's nemesis, not nemmy.
Completely disagree. As has been said before, it's an affectionate nickname for the best and most iconic coaster in the UK. I don't use many abbreviations, but "Nemmy" is one of the few I do use.

Thanks Skysie.
