Thorpe Park: General Discussion

I'm actually all for the replacement to be something not a coaster. The park used to be water ride heavy and it was better when the mix was changed to include more coasters. Now however it feels more the other way. For me id like to see a dark ride in its place or something less intense and accessible to many.

The rapids made more family memories than any ride at thorpe park can possibly do today. Ie teens, younger members, not brave parents could all ride together and it was partially thrilling for all.

To me the people above talking about night rides and fright nights on the rapids proves it was a fun time that held up against the likes of the bigger coasters and even captain lucky ;-)

Ride availability page updated to show that Tidal Wave and Zodiac will be closed this weekend. It specifically states 21-22nd March so will be interesting to see if they open next week.

Zodiac was closed most of last season and has last operated in June (?) I believe but looks like it'll be making a return this season. The gondolas which were removed last season have been added back on and it looks like all the gondolas have been tidied up. All the old branding Thorpe logos have been removed.

Tidal Wave makes sense its receiving a big refurb this year which is good to see

Cobblers.
Low season closure for cost saving, especially with the increase in energy due to the wars.
Same as Valhall, rapids etc.
They have had a whole closed season for maintenance.
Its fact, it had scaffolding round the lift hill it last week also looks like their repairing some of the other effect around the ride to. Also likely hasn't had its full testing done yet from its winter maintenance.

If it was cost saving. Then they wouldn't be refurbing it would they and leave it as it was from last season

The fact it is getting a major refurbishment on the lift hill which was one of the big things causing technical problems and downtime for Tidal Wave since 2023 is promising with it's future. Hopefully Tidal Wave won't be on the chopping board for a while yet.

What might be good for colder months would be to copy from Duinrell's notebook and have a roofed boat. It might persuade more people to ride it.

They have had since last November...
It is early season, wet rides are not very popular at this time of year, bar the (very) odd thoosie.
And possibly goose.
Possibly with this project they found a lot more that had to be done then first thought
