Tokyo Disney Resort: General Discussion

Think my Tokyo Disney Sea plans are out the window, the day i'm free to go is "Respect for the aged day" which looking at last year was a near sell out day at the park and that's before the new area opened. Assume it would be an intolerable day of 3+ hour queues?
 
I just saw a POV of the Frozen ride, it looks absolutely mindblowing. I can't believe what they've done. Which leads me to 2 questions:

1. Is there any chance they'll be replicating this in Paris?

2. When i'm there in September do i have any chance of getting on it if i'm going last minute?

I would think there is a possibility Paris will get somewhere between the 2 versions and not using animated projected faces, they don't seem to have gone down too well and Disney seem to be moving away from them but we will see.
 
Is there any source to the assumptions? Or just based on precedent? Seems weird to open an inferior version years after a superior one.

It's not actually that uncommon. In both the above cases the ride was designed as a signiture attraction which was both very expensive and not as reliable as the versions that came later. They are still better rides, but copying them doesn't actually make as much of a business case as it might seem.

In this case Tokyo Disney makes a lot more money than Paris. And the investors behind it are happy to spend a lot on their version of this ride because the park can support it.
Walt Disney Studios needs a new headline ride, but it also needs a lot more doing to bring the park up to standard. Therefore getting the older "budget" version which will still have the same appeal from the public makes a lot of sense.
Case in point the Hong Kong ride opened within the last year. They could have easily built the Tokyo version at all 3 parks, but Hong Kong and Paris chose to base theirs on Florida's.
 
The new lands look unbelievable! Really putting the Orlando parks to shame
 
I went to Tokyo Disneyland today. I won't write too much (I will write a trip report about some of the Japanese theme parks within a few weeks), but I thought that Tokyo's Haunted Mansion was far better than Paris' Phantom Manor, and I enjoyed riding the last remaining Splash Mountain. I found Pooh's Hunny Hunt to be slightly overrated.

Which parks are you going to @Zeock? Is it just the Disney parks, or are you going to some of the other Japanese parks too?
