Towers Loving Care

A glimpse at some of the great attention to detail (in other words doing it properly) that seems to be going on in Duel. (picture below, might not show on some browsers)

Cool! The flying heads scene is one of the simplest, but so effective when done well. I don't think its been lit, painted or timed properly for about 15 years! Here's hoping.

Now will they fix the lighting in those scenes so the rigs become hidden?! The LED lights ruined those scenes so I hope they've sorted it out. Same with the flying bats scene.

Its not really in the background though, its stuck right in front and those zombies have always given a pretty cheesy first impression!

The new zombie looks far better, but surprised they bothered with it to be honest. The area looked its best when it had just the grave there and the house in full view, a bigger draw for the crowd passing by.

Is this replacing the awful-looking zombie with the laser gun outside Duel?

Just a thought, although the improvements to Duel look great, I hope we don't lose the last remaining parts of the original Haunted House soundtrack (entrance hall and doll's house music) as part of this refurbishment.

Another photo of the whole thing:

I still think the Duel crypt is so tacky overall. Better than what it was like before but then anything is.

As long as it's not bitty. I love the original score but looking forward to a new one that feels more together.

Both those remaining tracks in the queue arent played properly through the zone speakers anyway, havnt been since the Duel redo, the preshow room especially sounded like it was just wired in through lone little speaker in the corner. Hopefully now that the screens have gone, background music can be put back in full force!

Nice to see a bit of greenery in the plaza. Always felt under done considering the prominence of the gardens on the other side. It's a start at the very least!

Wonder if the planters are just temporary and next season the self serv machines will be there instead?

Seems but strange leaving that one set of shutter grey while others are blue.

A closer look at the park map shown on the sign in the AltonTLC update!
Looks pretty good! :)

Honestly not trying to be horrible for the sake of it, and I won't be horrible. However, I don't see a major difference in the plaza. Yeah, they probably got rid of a couple of booths or something. Wacked a bit of paint on some stuff. Where's that massive AT sign gone?

Disappointed at the same mish-mash park map design being used. Really outdated and useless as a park map.

The plaza looks good though. Fountains would look great at the entrance if they could afford it.

I've often wondered if a "Harry Beck" style map could be made for the park. It certainly couldn't be any worse than the current maps.

Screaming Heads have had a repaint, the timings are being adjusted in closed hours, TLC confirmed on their facebook. They also gave some hope of the Trommel being fixed in the near future:
