If I've understood correctly, anyone who's had their first dose and booked their second for 12 weeks later can bring it forward to eight weeks now. I originally had my second booked for the end of August but have been able to reschedule it to exactly eight weeks since my first. You can check availability and which locations near you are available before you cancel the existing one so no stress about ending up without one at all.

Yep, my original second one was booked for about 12 weeks after the first. But they then changed the rules and you can get it after 8. I changed my booking a few times to get it closer to the 8 week mark. And had the second one yesterday.

After the first one my arm hurt and I felt really rough for a day or two (like a bad hangover). However this time my arm hurts but I’ve had no other side effects.

I had my 2nd one exactly 4 weeks after my 1st but I had Moderna so I think thats why.

I had my second dose of Pfizer last week, about 6 weeks after my first. Got a sore arm for a couple of days both times and felt a bit rough the night after my second one.

I am sure it's not but Moderna feels like a Hi-Tec trainer next to Adidas and Nike.

I had my second Pfizer dose on Tuesday, just over eight weeks since my first dose.

Originally it said twelve weeks on my card, but I was advised to contact at the eight week mark if I didn't hear anything. That is exactly what I did and they fitted me in a few days later.

The second dose was worse than the first for me, was a bit feverish and didn't sleep very well. OK now though, just a sore arm. It's funny how the side effects vary so much from person to person.

For those waiting for their second dose and wanting to move their 12 week appointment earlier, it’s worth checking the NHS booking system, which everyone will have access to the day after their first vaccine, even if it was done at a doctor’s surgery.

If you have an appointment on the NHS system, it’ll show you availability nearby now and also a lot of places are offering walk up jabs as long as you’ve passed the 8 week mark (some are doing 4 weeks, but officially it still should be 8).

All fully jabbed now. Second jab was on a bus so not quite as glamorous but all done nonetheless. No side effects from either dose.

It is now turning to the question of optimum intervals between injections - including the so-called booster doses being considered.

Will we see further government mandating of proof of booster vaccination as a condition of entry to certain venues/events - that is the big question for me. If boosters become mandated in ways, the question is how do we eventually exit from that.

Fully jabbed with both doses of Moderna vaccine.

Problem is I had it done in Florida where I study. Here in the UK my vaccine status isn’t recognised as I was not vaccinated by the NHS, so I’m treated as unvaccinated by my GP. Get texts almost daily asking me to come forward for my jab. Hopefully jabs don’t become a condition of entry for public events here as I will not be able to prove my status.

assuming you have proof of vaccine from it being done in the USA I would expect your GP can update your records?

I do have the CDC card which we are given upon vaccination, however as there is no centralised vaccine database in the US there is no way to verify the authenticity of the card, and so they will not put it on my records in the UK.

I'm fully jabbed now also, had my second dose of Pfizer on Thursday. Felt off all day Friday (tired, achey, a bit of a chill) and the same Saturday but to a lesser extent. Sore arm again as well. But all fine now!

Strangely I was worse after my first dose of Pfizer than my second. After the first I was really achey all over, got hardly any sleep and was flagging the following day, whereas the second resulted in little more than a dead arm.

Changed vote to fully vaccinated with Pfizer as of Wednesday. In terms of side effects:
first jab - really achey arm and nothing more
second jab - less achey arm than before and about 6 hours of feeling off colour (the day after), but that's all.
