Does anyone know when this is please? I have nothing against travelers, but our group do all enjoy some beers to break up the long day! I've been caught out by this in the past, usually the Sunday before the clocks go back...

It’s not always a Sunday! Last year they turned up on a random Friday but as @GaryH says I have also heard it will be the 15th.

I'm back from a couple of days on the park. The security didn't even prepare for them arriving yesterday (Sunday). But info from two different people have told me that they will be stepping up the security and have ask for police presence this Sunday (15th) coming. However nothings is 100% guarantee if and what day they will turn up, they could still be throwing us a curve ball like they did last year

Do they have the same "problem" at other parks or just AT?

What I heard from hearsay, they were very much troublesome at Thorpe last year.

I Was at Thorpe park on Monday and even though it was very very quiet these was still a serious amount of undesirables!

People down there just don't seem to understand the concept of a que...or to let the person in front of you get their bag first after the ride

And the amount of smoking in the lines is unbelievable

    Sorry to go off topic

Oh dear. Sounds like Alton had their hands full today with trouble of their Twitter feed is anything to go by. Lots of people complaining of violence, threatening behaviour, queue jumping.

I also noticed alcohol had been banned today. Someone on Twitter asked why..... Their response cracked me up.....

@AltonTowers Hi is there a reason alcohol isn't being sold in the park today?

Hey Katy, today is our Family Friendly day and to promote this environment we do not have alcohol on sale across our Resort
    .

Family friendly day? Lol. That's a new one on me .

Such a shame though these people go to the park and wreck it for others. I know the security at Alton do their best to limit the damage but it must be so frustrating for the staff.....

Best day ever. White polystyrene balls every where. Pumpkins smashed to bits all over Towers Street. In fact Towers Steet looked a complete shambles by 9pm Heard they tried to nick the lighting generators from the carpark,

I've seen worse than today but I've also seen better. Minimal queue jumping, polystyrene everywhere and the annual gathering at the front of the towers. There was also a mini brawl at the bottom of Towers Street not long after park close; alerted security who were very swift in response.

Scare maze actors were great and weren't dialled down as they have been on previous traveller occasions.

It is pretty much an unsolvable problem. Just how can you stop any issues arising?

Good day, apart from the chavellers. 90% of the lads had slicked back hair, nearly all of the boys and girls had Adidas full trackies, all one colour. Most common this year was khaki green. I feel I may have been mistaken for one because I looked so rough today thanks to the 3am wake up. Next years tracksuit colours are dark grey, heard it here first ;).

It's all well and good trying not to offend people with blanket bans, but surely there must be SOME way for them to solve this given it happens every year?

Plenty of places refuse entry to large groups of lads for no other reson than they "don't like the look of them". What about Gullivers parks or LDCs and their "adults without children are obviously child molesters" policy?
It's private property and they can ban whoever they like, provided it's not on racial, sexual, gender etc. grounds. I've seen a lesbian friend turned away at the door of a gay club for "not looking gay", while they were happy to let ME in! :p If that is legal (I'm not saying it's acceptable, mind) then surely Towers can come up with something to ban that isn't directly "x people from y culture"?

If they can act like animals all day, and abuse people, surely they should be able to take name calling and offensive jokes about them on an online forum they most likely don't read. The only reason they're getting abuse is because how they act. And maybe they fact they look like they've been tangoed.
