Trip Planning: Information, advice and questions!

Does anyone know if the ride age requirements are ever enforced at EP?

My 8 year old hammered Voltron last year when 7, got measured multiple times but was never questioned on age;

This year she may well make the 1.4 for Silverstar at 8 years old but no way does she look 11, she looks like a tall 8 year old. If we lie it’s embarrassingly obvious we’re lying.

Are they likely to ask?

I can’t imagine they are that likely to ask. Age is difficult to verify unless they literally have a host there asking for ID, which I can’t imagine most parks do. I certainly don’t remember seeing anyone get asked when I was at EP 3 years ago.

I gather that minimum age restrictions are often more of a recommendation than a hard, fast rule like minimum height restrictions, with age being an indicator of recommended maturity level to experience the attraction.

Hey folks, booked a trip for w/c 22nd September and now think I made have made an error here.

Looking at the shows for 2025 it appears both the Ice Show and new Parade stop running on 21st September. Have I inadvertently booked the one week in the season with stripped back entertainment?

Halloween season starts on 27th (the day we leave first thing) so I assume a Halloween themed Ice Show and Parade will launch then.

Is there any chance of some sort of ‘soft opening’ for these during the week, or am I clutching at straws?

I wasn’t aware they ever curtailed the entertainment like this so it didn’t even occur to me when booking.

Cheers!

Yeah I think (and hope) you’re right, like the height is a hard rule and the age is there so if your kid freaks out and you moan they have something to point to.

Thanks

Hi everyone! New to the forum - looking for advice on my May / June Europa park trip !

Visited Europa park last June and had an amazing time. Want to go again this year during the week in either May or June, for 3 days. Struggling to work out when the park will be quiet. Are there any local holidays, school holidays or special events that might make certain dates busier? Anyone been to the park in May/June previously and can share how busy it was?

Thank you for any help, advice or comments that you are able to give!

There's a public holiday on May 1st and 8th, and May 29th-31st is Ascension weekend so the park will be packed. I'm hoping the 8th won't be too bad as that's the week I'm going.

Quietest week is likely to be May 12-16th - no public holidays that week and no school holidays in Europe as far as I am aware. 19th-23rd will probably be fine as well. I would avoid the last week of May if you want a quiet park.

I have a memory of some vlogger or poster somewhere mentioning a cake buffet in the French area..

Anyone know if it was ever really a thing?

They sell cakes in France, in the bakery, the next door bar, and all three restaurants. There is not a cake buffet. I’m not aware there ever has been one although I’ll admit I wasn’t visiting (nor even alive) back in the 70s.

Is there a main “strip” in Rust?

ie. A road with the most condensed amount of shops/bars etc?

We’re travelling with young kids so we can’t go marching around too much, we did that last year but felt it a bit sparse, we were just wandering around though with no target.

We’ve got my parents with us too this time and they’ll want a look around, anywhere to head for in particular?

I know about the rust bus, which stop would be good to get off at?

I was sad I never found a pizza vending machine.

Thanks!

It is a bit sparse! I never found Rust to be a hotbed of activity once the park has closed for the night. Many of the restaurants are Pizzerias and the ones I’ve been to I wouldn’t particularly recommend. We usually head to the park hotels to eat and drink.

There’s a small cluster of places after you exit the park and cross the bridge over the Elz. I wouldn’t call it a strip, it’s just a small collection of restaurants, bars and a couple of shops. There are a couple of other restaurants spread throughout the village, primarily based around the road that runs between there and the hotels, and in and around the hotels themselves.

Google maps is your friend, but don’t expect a massive concentration of places.

Oh hell yeah thanks for all the Rust tips, I’m too excited to get me a vended pizza, I’ll head to that cluster of shops too, felt like I was missing it last time!

Sorry for double post but this is totally different..

Tearing hair out a bit over ResortPasses..

just found out about the 14 day thing!

Is it true that I cannot buy these now to start at the start of my summer holiday, as it has to be 14 days before?

On the site they’re marked as “few available”.. so they could be sold out when I go?

is it possible the regular tickets could sell out in the middle of summer and they stop selling entry?

I’ve got a south Germany theme park trip organised for six people Tripsdrill Holiday Steinwasen and 10 days at EP, it’ll be a disaster if I don’t get those annual passes, they’re only ~€20 more than a six day pass and the six day ain’t gonna cut it, we wanted to dip in and out all trip! Plus I need it still valid in 11 months and I get a second cheapo holiday out of it!

Help!

Pretty sure you can buy them now, but they must be validated to start no more than 14 days after you purchase them. However I don't believe there is a requirement to actually use the pass within those 14 days. So as long as you weren't thinking of visiting again between April 2026 and Summer 2026, you can start the passes whenever.

Having said that, although they could potentially take them off sale any time, I don't think they've actually needed to do this in the last 2-3 years, so if you did want to leave it to chance you would probably be fine.

You can buy them now but would have to have the start date within 14 days after you buy the pass. It’s up to you when you then use the pass, but Will will expire in a years time.

They didn’t sell out of passes last year but they did sell out the year before.
