Trip Planning: Information, advice and questions!
Bad news folks, having just returned from a stay in Elzpark, Sybille has informed me that due to the owners age, they will be permanently closing at the end of the year. I don't believe that it is being sold or bought by anyone else, so I imagine only time will tell - but such a shame as it was a great facility.

Noooooo
I'd be extremely surprised if it wasn't picked up by someone, property in Rust is in incredibly high demand. With the waterpark on the horizon that demand is only going to keep growing.
Gutted though, that was the first place I stayed off site and I doubt a new owner would be as awesome as the current ones!

Oh. My. God.
This place has been my EP trip home for 8 years... I can't believe it. I am genuinely incredibly upset!!!
Guys can we club together and keep it going??? THIS CANNOT HAPPEN!!

Wow, thanks for letting us know but that is really sad news. I've only stayed at Elzpark three times but it is such a lovely place. Spacious apartments, friendly and helpful staff, brilliant located with stunning views and the ability to get bottles of Erdingers for a stupidly cheap price!
It is one of the best rated and regarded places to stay in Rust so it must have been a hard decision for them. I do hope that they look to sell the business although as Craig says it would be hard to find owners as good as the current ones.
It would be strange if it wasn't sold, there is huge demand for accommodation in Rust (new apartments are being constructed oposite Elzpark at the moment). But I suppose they may have other ideas of what to do with the building for the time being.

Stranger things have happened, I say we do it. I'm sure there are plenty of us that would be quite happy to move out there and run the place.Guys can we club together and keep it going???
I can chip in about £3.50, how about you guys?

Whilst the rooms / apartments were good, i always felt Elzpark was a little impersonal compared to other Rust accommodation. The lack of breakfast also playing as a negative.
However, i have stayed there a few times and was impressed with how spacious it was.

To be fair, it is an apartment, not a B&B.Whilst the rooms / apartments were good, i always felt Elzpark was a little impersonal compared to other Rust accommodation. The lack of breakfast also playing as a negative.

It obviously changes on dates/times of pickups and the car. I use Skyscanner car rental and got a quote from Basel Mulhouse, full to full and unlimited mileage for ~£120 for the week, for my trip in September.

ah that does an expensive weekend.
I found this carrentals.co.uk
I've never used the site but it does have a corsa for £38 for those 3 days. Obviously use this at your own risk and do your homework before booking.

Happy to help
As pointed out to me a few pages back, unless you are a Swiss national (or non-EU national bizarrely) you cannot hire a swiss plated car in Switzerland and cross the border. That may have saved you sticky conversation with the popo/border official.
Have a great trip.

Does anyone know how much a three day ticket (consecutive days) costs at Europa Park? And can they only be bought when at the park? Thanks

They are around 120€ I believe, and yes they can only be bought at the park. You can't use the ticket machines either, you have to go to one of the ticket booths and ask.Does anyone know how much a three day ticket (consecutive days) costs at Europa Park? Has anyone been since Voletarium opened?
I'm stopping in the hotel Andaluz next month and wondering if it is worth travelling across the park at 8:30 or doing Blue Fire and Whale adventures as part of ERT? Then try to get on Wodan as soon as it opens.
Any suggestions? Thanks![]()
@Rob will be your best bet for this one I think.
