TS Official Meet Calendar 2017

We have taken the decision as follows:
  • Margate is too far with too little to justify an official meet
  • Yarmouth is also not substantial enough a destination, nor is there demand
  • The South meet in 2016 was a success, and we are sure that a Thorpe Park meet would have again been as such. However, with Paultons completed in 2016 there is no immediate desire to return and Chessington continues to be a laughing stock with the majority of our members.
  • Blackpool is always a popular meet and the park opens till 10pm
  • We have not been to FL/LWV since 2010
  • A South meet is highly likely to return in 2018.
I would suggest organising a mini meet to Thorpe Park in March/April? If it's popular it can become an official meet, of course!

Due to work, I can only realistically commit to the Sundays of any Towers meets. Annoyingly, the York Weekender doesn't co-ordinate itself well with me and work. I was desperate to do Mingo and LWV this year, but maybe some other time. I'll try to pop up on any mini-meets, though. Definitely going to be there for Fireworks, though (pending Towers' confirmation of the event actually happening, of course :p). Never one to miss out on that weekend!
 
I'll admit I've only been to york once, for a flying visit to the Dungeon. The viking thingy has always sounded interesting....

Also trains.
 
Hmm, if I can get the Sunday off work, I could possibly do the York weekender, but going home the Monday morning instead of LWV, as have work that day. Not sure on any meets past that yet, as don't have my work rota past end of Apr.
 
Looks like a good year, I'll be definitely there for Blackpool and interested in Yorkshire it's just public transport is a nightmare for the parks. I would have to lift scab off someone if anyone's coming from the Greater Manchester area, more than happy to pay for half the fuel :)

Much like many of you, I've become entirely disillusioned with Merlin over the last couple of years and will probably only visit Alton once, during Scarefest this year.
I'm potentially interested in the North meet, if only to finally ride Hero, but as I get back from Germany late on April 28th, this will have to be TBC.

Hotels for Blackpool are booking up already. Any chance of the thread being made early due to this??
 
Are people booking maze tickets for the scarefest meet?

On the subject of Scarefest, any idea when a meet topic will be created? Just that there aren't many rooms left at Rugeley Travelodge for the Saturday night now, so it might be worth getting sorted for that - or alternative accommodation - as soon as is practical.
 
I was also wondering what times people are planning on doing the mazes, especially the new one as that's a separate add on.
