Universal Epic Universe - New Florida Theme Park

No it wasn't sarcastic, it was based on the premise that it's quite exhausting going to a theme park (i find anyway) so couldn't imagine doing it for 14 consecutive days!

Also i was working on the assumption that a 14 day ticket only covered one "brand", eg. Universal, i didn't realise they were combined tickets across all the parks.

We have done Florida twice and both times had a day off around day 6/7. It definitely helps I think.

13 park days in 14 days is enough for anyone IM0. I have absolutely no interest in visiting the smaller independent parks either really.

Next year we are provisionally planning:

Sunday: AK
Monday: MK
Tuesday: Epoct
Wednesday: Hollywood Studios
Thursday: Sea World
Friday: Busch Gardens

Saturday: REST DAY

Sunday. Volcano Bay
Monday: IOA
Tuesday: IOA
Wednesday: Epic
Thursday: Epic (if a repeat visit is possible. If not then revisit to another park)
Friday: Universal Studios Park

When we did just Disney with our then 4 year old daughter we went to the theme parks every day but back then you had fast pass+ and as we were staying on site. We did the 4 parks from morning to mid/late afternoon then we got back to the resort for pool time, food and maybe watch a movie under the stars. Then we would have a rest day by going to a water park in the morning and then do Disney Springs in the late afternoon/evening. Then we do the 4 parks again but have a late get up and breakfast then go swimming at the resort and go the parks in the late afternoon to the night so we could watch the fireworks/evening entertainment.
I couldn’t do Universal for more than 3 days as with the weather in July, August and September you get the thunder storms which is a blessing in 30+ temperatures but about 80% of IOA closes its rides.

We going again in 2026 and as my son is only gonna be roughly 1.2m (currently 1.1m) we only gonna do Disney again as when we did Disney only in 2016 my daughter was just under 40 ins so most of the rides will be new to her and Disney has added a lot in the past 8 years. Will go to Universal and Busch hopefully in 2031 for my 50th.

I suppose beyond the exhaustion aspect i was also coming at it from the viewpoint of say if we went to California or Osaka for 14 days there's so much else to do but with Orlando it's not exactly a cultural hotbed outside of the theme parks!

Your schedule sounds more doable though, various half days interspersed with swimming would be my sons dream! Sounds like it takes off the pressure to try and get everything done too.

Attraction Tickets are searching for a 'Theme Park Tester' to receive an all-expenses paid trip to Epic Universe in return for taking photos, video content and reviewing. Great opportunity for the right person 😊

I'm thinking of entering this, just got to find the courage to video myself first 😂

That feeling when you have just paid for the 14 day pass for August 25 and it starts to feel very real. 😁

BLACKFRIDAY sales were insane. Saved about £700 on the tickets which is nuts and got some nice freebies thrown in too.

Roll on 2025. Back to Florida for first time in over a decade.

It is great feeling to have ticket booked

Disney tickets are the only real Black Friday deal as they have guinuinley been reduced for summer- all though this isn’t just a Black Friday deal and the deal running for 2025 summer bookings now free dinning deal has ended. ie August have just over £100 reduction. I have paid the full £519 as part of an onsite package, I got £200 discount on the room and free quick serve dinning. It works out more if had the deal with cheaper tickets and nights free promo they are doing if stopping on site.

Universal tickets though the sellers just upped the cost for past few weeks to suit the so called Black Friday discount. I got mine including epic when they first became available and paid less than they are now with 16% off on some sellers pages. The pre discount cost has just been increased considerably to cover the discount!

I have flights booked and the Disney resort just need 9 nights booking at universal- want Aventura again but just watching prices currently- last time got a decent deal on Black Friday (that’s not happened this year) they did drop again at start of Jan so will keep tracking the prices.

£2900 all in for the 3 of us for the Freedom pass which includes free cancellation option and also the free dining for all 3 Sea World owned parks. Works out about £75 per day per person so I think that's fine personally.

We looked at splitting our trip across Disney and Universal and changing hotel on our one and only rest day but it came in much more expensive so we have gone for International Drive again.

Didn't the prices go up to reflect Epic Universe being added though?

The prices did but I booked with epic added. I paid £408 for universal inc epic. With Florida tix now they upped price to £507 for our August date but have 16% Black Friday discount which is £426 a ticket.

In any case your trip will be amazing especially as not been for 10 years so much new stuff for you all to experience.

Ah fair play. Yeah we are very excited to get back and it will a first time for our son who will be 11 when we go. He's a massive HP fan and also loves Nintendo too so needless to say he's most excited about Universal. Had we gone 3/4 years ago it would have been Disney for him for sure.

Been reading a lot of the rumours over the weekend and according to Orlando Insider it is looking likely that the Harry Potter Ministry of Magic attraction as well as the Frankenstein Dark Ride will not have fast pass for the opening season at the very least. Not confirmed yet but that's what they are hearing.

Have to say that makes me very happy it's it's true as we aren't intending to buy any fast passes whilst we are over there. We will be solely relying on good planning in the parks to get in as many rides as we can.

The Mario dark ride is the one attraction that is giving me major queue VIBES. The throughputs don't look good enough to me.

The Japan one is typically 2-3 hours and the Hollywood one isn't much better.

Yeah I think it's a terribly thought out attraction given how popular the IP is.

We are guna have to suck it up though and queue as my son is nuts for all things Mario.
