Universal Epic Universe - New Florida Theme Park

Each ride car seats 14 so definitely should be getting good capacity.

Also the current VQ times are for the previews. The park doesn’t open until 11am currently anyway. Which I assume gives them time to complete any work in the park that’s still required.

Even better. I'm avoiding spoilers so haven't seen the cars inside.

I had read they seated 8 so that's obviously not true.

Was in an Epic Universe You Tube rabbit hole last night and I think we could well be looking at Virtual queue system for both Harry Potter and Mine cart madness at this rate. Queues for DK Mine cart are averaging at 80 mins through staff and annual pass previews apparently which is the highest in the park, That's massively concerning really because at full capacity when the park officially opens it's probably go to peak at 3hrs maybe even 4hrs on really busy days.

Universal don't often get things wrong but I think they have dropped the ball big time with the DK coaster. The capacity just isn't going to be good enough I don't think to meet the demand. We've got early access but god knows how far back in the queue we will be at the entrance gates. If the queue is 2hrs long when we get into Nintendo land I think we might even skip it entirely. I don't think I could wait 2 hrs for what looks to be an incredibly tame and short coaster experience.

May even try to lap Stardust Racers as many times as possible during early access instead. Will probably be a more valuable use of that hour.

Mine Kart Madness does have a single rider queue. Some of the queue time during previews is due to it going down alot. Also bear in mind as expected mine cart madness is rough due to the elevated position of the ride car vs the track. Apparently lots of jolts, luckily it’s just a lapbar so not so much of an issue.

Quick serve Food prices are also higher at epic than at the existing Universal parks and Disney. Most entries are $17.99-$24 excluding drink £14-£18.90. The butter beer crepe is $20 (£15.78). Although I do like how Universal now do most of their quick serve which is you order via the app- you queue to be seated by staff member, scan the qr code on the table and the food is brought to you. Much easier than the older style of ordering and collecting food, queuing to pay and then the risk of trying to find a table which at busy times can be an issue.

As the prospect of me getting to Florida anytime soon is slim, I watched a POV of Mine-Cart Madness.

I assume the madness comes if you queue for it for longer than 10 minutes. What a colossal disappointment and to cap it off its supposedly as rough as anything too.

I think the land looks visually impressive but both of the major rides are meant to be very underwhelming. I'm personally not the least bit bothered about either of them.

All the other lands and major rides interest me far more.
