I've been listening to a lot of things in the past few days, and the list is below (in alphabetical order):
Arctic Monkey's- Favourite Worst Nightmare
The Beatles- Abbey Road, Sgt. Pepper's
Bloc Party- Silent Alarm
Foo Fighters- Wasting Light
The Fratellis- Costello Music, Here We Stand
Jimi Hendrix- Are You Experienced?
Kaiser Chiefs- Yours Truly, Angry Mob
Kasabian- Kasabian, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum
The Killers- Day & Age, Hot Fuss, Sam's Town
Muse- BH&R, OoS, TR
Queens of the Stone Age- Era Vulgaris
The Strokes- Is This It?
Tenacious D- The Pick of Destiny, Tenacious D
Them Crooked Vultures- Them Crooked Vultures
The Vaccines- What Did You Expect From...
The Wombats- A Guide to Love, Loss & Depression
And (although a bit late) OoS is the best. FULL STOP.
Although it seems close at first between OoS and Absolution, BH&R is quite far behind, the first seven of OoS wins it comfortably- despite Absolution seeming to have more great songs. I'm not sure if it's Citizen Erased, the order of songs, the diversity, Citizen Erased, the way the songs seem to fit together or Citizen Erased.
Probably it's Citizen Erased.
Although Absolution probably has more songs that I like- I like the vast majority of them- OoS has my three favourite Muse songs (New Born, Bliss and Citizen Erased) and the diversity makes it the best.
The Resistance is very meh, with a few things that are good. Showbiz would be incredible- if they had forgot to put in Falling Down and Hate This and I'll Love You. BH&R seems very good initially, but and all the songs are good, but not great. Pretty much, it's only Map of the Problematique and Knights of Cydonia which are great songs.
Want to put them into overall perspective, here's my top 10 Muse songs:
1. Citizen Erased
2. New Born
3. Bliss
4. Symphony (I count it as one)
5. Butterflies and Hurricanes
6. Sunburn
7. The Small Print (a strange choice, but I love the song)
8. Hyper Music
9. Showbiz
10. Stockholm Syndrome
This shows how OoS and Absolution reign, with all but 3 songs in here. No songs from BH&R, yet I still regard it highly as my third favourite. Weird.
Apologies to those who despise Muse, I could not help indulge myself.
