- Reading books - I read every night before bed, and I don’t even have a Kindle or anything, so I’m still holding a real-life book and reading it every night.
- Not having pronouns on your Instagram bio - I don’t have Instagram, so I don’t even have an Instagram bio, but talking more generally; my Facebook account doesn’t have any pronouns listed, so I tick this box. Come to think of it, no one else I’m friends with on Facebook has them either, even people my age…
- Eating dairy - Unlike many my age, I’m not a vegan.

- As a young guy, I agree with @pluk in definitely not classing skinny jeans as something that makes you seem old. At a guess, I’d say that most people, if not everyone, I’ve ever seen wearing skinny jeans was 25 or below, possibly even 20 or below. I don’t personally wear skinny jeans (unless slim fit counts as skinny), as I personally find them a bit too tight, but I know plenty of people my age who do.
- I also disagree with the notion that still being on Facebook makes you old; I’m still on Facebook, as are the majority of people my age that I know. Admittedly, it doesn’t seem to be the primary social network people my age use (things like Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok etc seem vastly more popular), but most do still use it to a degree. I guess I would agree more if it were rephrased to “Facebook is still your only social network”, but even still… I only use Facebook, and I wouldn’t even say I’m an especially active or vocal user, so I guess I would be old by that metric!
- Surely voting leave in the EU referendum is merely a political opinion as opposed to something that represents age?
- I also don’t think eating dairy makes you old. While I’ll admit that an increasing proportion of young people are beginning to turn vegan, I still know of plenty who aren’t.
- I know plenty of young people who smoke, as well. I personally don’t, but I know of plenty who do.

I thought this might be quite fitting for this thread; I just saw a poll within this Metro article that suggested the top 20 things that make millennials think you’re old: https://apple.news/Atg4NqusfQT-kydt4sFB3vw
These things are:
Even though I’m technically too young to even be a millennial (being born in 2003, I think I’m Gen Z, aren’t I?), let’s see how many apply to me… of that list, I’d say that at very least, the following still apply to me on a regular basis:

Wearing skinny jeans? Everyone I see wearing skinny jeans looks about 12.
Its all about 90s fashion with Gen Z. Baggy jeans are back apparently.
(although technically I am both a millenial and old enough to remember the 90s style the first time).

I only managed 5 out of 20 , so maybe I am not old after all
Used to work with a woman that always had a paper hankie up her sleeve. Took it out to blow her nose then stuff it back up there !!
I have never read books. Just not my thing. Used to like fact books but its all on the internet these days.

I’ll admit I disagreed with a few of the voted items in that list as well. For instance:
I guess what makes someone seem “old” is up for interpretation, though, as is the very definition of “old” in the first place!
I must ask, though; what does it mean by “dating in real life”? Surely everyone dates in real life?

And unless I'm missing something, does this not contradict the point they're trying to make?[The] top 20 things that make millennials think you’re old: ...

That’s a good point, particularly about millennials’ age… perhaps Gen Z (my generation) would be a better indicator? Or maybe even Gen Alpha? And unless I'm missing something, does this not contradict the point they're trying to make?

Plus millenials are aged between 26 to 41. That's hardly asking the youth of today what they think about older generations.

Generation X (1965-1980)So what generation are you if you are born in the late 70s?

I'd say that's quite accurate. The majority of people who wear skinny jeans, in my experience, do tend to be younger than 25. I'll admit I'm an outlier, though, in that I'm 29 but prefer them over the baggy-fitting ones. TL;DR is that it's an autism thing, in that I prefer jeans being tight on my calves as opposed to when they're baggy and can randomly touch my calves at unexpected moments, which can sometimes cause me sensory issues. Basically, stuff below the waist has to be tight-fitting for me.I’ll admit I disagreed with a few of the voted items in that list as well. For instance:
In terms of slim fit, Matt, they're a bit less tight than skinny fit, and there's then things like regular/bootcut/wide cut, which are even less tight, though I'm not exactly sure on the differences between them, given I haven't worn loose-cut jeans for many years.

See, I’m autistic too, but I’m the opposite; I don’t like things too tight, personally. Slim fit tends to be my go to; I’m pretty thin, so regular fit looks a bit too baggy on me, but whenever I’ve tried skinny fits, I’ve always found them a touch too tightly fitting for my liking.I'd say that's quite accurate. Interesting how tastes differ!
I would never personally have called skinny jeans something that makes you seem older, though… I would have argued the opposite, if anything!

I haven't worn regular-fit jeans in years, but I think they'd probably look a little too baggy on me. Plus the legs could be more likely to drag on the floor - it's a nightmare trying to find skinny jeans that fit me in both waist size and leg length. Yay for being short!
Anyway, this is going slightly off-topic.
******* arthritis.
Doing the washing up this morning, a clean wet plate tries to escape my weak early grip with the assistance of mate gravity.
I grab out, smash the plate against the side of the sink, and stab a sliver of ceramic into the palm of my hand.
Deep but not big, can see I missed the tendon.
Usual first aid stuff, clean and dress it.
Google of puncture wounds, visit to local early day pharmacist for expert eyes.
Keep clean and rest.
Sorted, old man's injuries day off.

You know you’re getting old when you know where all the loos are located at a park, quickest route to them and you make sure you go to one before joining a long queue just to be sure. I tend to drink lots of water on a trip out and you can’t hold it in for hours or days like you can when you’re in your 20s.
