In case you missed the news article on Friday, these are the latest photos of the track on site from Friday afternoon. Notice since the week before the supports have all gone.

Someone is looking for aerial photos of the new coaster. Tatenhill Aviation has one of the enchanted village on their Facebook https://m.facebook.com/TatenhillAviationLtd
Also TowersTimes had some of CBeebies, but only the concrete had been poured at the time and it looked a bit phallic.

Yea I have seen these before and are great to keep tabs on construction. However there was a comment from Alistair saying the quadcopters have not faired well, I wondered if AT had complained or something

Last time someone flew a quadcopter over Alton Towers they were fined £550 because they were an idiot and flew it very close to The Smiler, Oblivion and Sonic Spinball, and the hundreds of guests walking around. Should have been fined a lot more!

Or opening day when we can all be in the queue to ride it first ahead of the kids! :p

As a side note, I'm wondering whether as a site/community we could have it arranged to have a reserved ride after park hours in similar vain to the CBeebees walkabout last year. I'm only saying this as a group of adults queuing up for a children's ride might annoy some of the parents there for the day.

If Towers had any sense or thought for the enthusiast community they would indeed do this. However they almost certainly will not.

:)

Cheers, yes that is a stupid thing to do, however no one is at AT now, surely this is a safer option?

Not possible, you have to be in view of the craft. Due to the locale of the site you'd still be breaching aviation rules.

I'm sure you need land owners permission to fly a quad cover overhead.
I was going to get one after Xmas but after all of the press on these things I can see they will soon be banned.

There are quadcopter video companies that could film on park as long as it is closed. and have got the permits for the Ariel filming. So it is possible for a fully licensed drone pilot, and cleared by ATROL. The only time you would see legal Quadcopter footage of Alton Towers would be IF Marketing uses it.

Towers really could do with updating their footage of rides and the park. I used to love the ariel shots of the park and rides that was used in the monorail video, but they have now gone. Which was certainly needed as 99% of it was rather outdated! Back when that was done it would probably filmed with a helicopter! Much cheaper now to use a quadcopter.

Haven't posted here for a long time but I have useful information to share for once! I don't expect anyone to believe me wholeheartedly but I had a job interview at Towers on Tuesday and the ride team there said that they were now allowed to talk about the coaster and it's definitely themed around the Octonauts. The bloke said what the coaster is called as well but I forgot (I'm so sorry, I was nervous!) Anyway, I think everybody assumed this to be the case anyway, unless I'm missing things which I probably am.

It's true it is Octonaughts as someone posted a picture of the staff newsletter confirming it, since been removed on the other towers site.
