That just is not news. It's happened to me when riding Spinball once before, the ride carried on as usual and no-one noticed.

:)

Think so...

Weather this is real or not or just exadurated, it isn't good for towers. Two REPORTED crashes in less than a month...

Why would you put heat packs on an injury. This person clearly doesn't know what they're talking about.

Yes, normally like when you have CONSTANT back pain or similar to that. Ice packs would be used for things like this.

From a "collision". Sorry, don't actually know much about first aid. Sounds to me like they had purely been exasperating everything to sell their story + get compensation, but ok.

I'm waiting for the next newspaper report to be about someone getting injured from a ride stopping in a break run.

I don't know whats funnier, the papers reporting it, or the misinformed disillusioned people actually listening to it.

What isn't funny is the impact this is undoubtedly happening on Alton Towers reputation and the financial consequences of it.

I don't know what Alton Towers can do, whether or not they have any standpoint from a legal point of view, but this is seriously hurting them. I really thought most of the 'news' would have blown over by now.

:)

People do over egg the what happened to them when seeking treatment

As for this curse, i am surprised they did not mention the old chained oak. And the curse of the old woman.

I'm surprised they didn't claim that the story of Hex was taunting the evil spirits behind the curse and asking for trouble.

I'm genuinely amazed that Towers is still making such regular news. I really really thought that it would have disappeared from the media by now. There's far more important things to be broadcasting.

It worries me for the parks reputation. I just hope it recovers after this season.

I feel the park will recover. When looking at Facebook comments on these stories, particularly the horrific nudging that took place on Sonic Spinball, more people are voicing their boredom of these stories than those being genuinely scared of the place. That being said, there are still countless posts of people saying 'Shut the place down', or that they and their friends/family will never step foot in there again, so damage is certainly being done.

The park will need a really good year next year to recover, though. I just hope they get more investment, rather than follow the typical Merlin model and get less for struggling.

I get the feeling that they weren't going to have a big investment next season. You don't really see much money spent before a big ride is built. This might change now though, they might buy a new flat or something.

Here's a thing, even the headline uses the wording 'hurt'...

Surely, if people were seriously injured/hurt, there would be no need for inverted commas?
