Costa at Towers would be decent, IMO - it'd fit quite nicely into Corner Coffee.

It used to be Costa served in Corner Coffee 10/15 years ago. It wasn't run by Costa (unlike Thorpe and Chessington who had full Nero shops) but AT bought the coffee beans from Costa and they made sure they staff were better trained.

Any kind of branded coffee would be a starting point. I'd take Starbucks but would prefer Costa :p

So now MAP holders get up to 40% off hotels until end of Jan... what a con!
Choose 8 random dates throughout the year and there are no packages available! really?! they are booked up all year , every day me thinks not
Alton Towers ... they are the best o_O

New Towers advert Sky had on today put emphasis on the Rollercoaster Restaurant but not Galactica....

That advert has been around for a few weeks, it came out before the Galactica announcement.

I'd assume Galactica will have it's own advert anyway.

IIRC, Towers usually have an advert showcasing the entire Resort about two months before it's suppose to open. and around the beginning of the season, they'll have a seperate advert for whatever is new for that season (2013: Smiler, 2014: Cbeebies Land, 2015: Unchanted Village). Mind you, it does seem a bit unusual as to how they haven't even mentioned Galactica in the slightest.

:)

I wonder if they're going to go for a big launch of Galactica when they relaunch The Smiler...

Quietly doing one, whilst waving VR headsets and new attractions would make perfect sense.

I really do think they needed to retheme The Smiler though.

Although it's definitely the World's Most Inappropriately Named ride now.

See I completely disagree about them needing to retheme and it being the most inappropriately named ride. To be perfectly honest I can think of some names which would be much more inappropriate.

Agree with you that it doesn't need a retheme, but it is definitely the worst theme in the park. Looking through some of the shop videos, and "the effects of the smiler will last with you... forever" May need editing out.

They could rename it boneshaker or the crunch. :D
Maybe an attack helicopter theme, the chopper....

To be fair though, it is mostly about mind manipulation rather than physical stuff. Yes it says it will marmalise your body and mind, but still I'd argue the body aspect is only the tickler.
That line has most likely gone however, the daily mail would complain.

If they rethemed/renamed it, it will still be known as The Smiler. Towers won't win either way when it reopens. If it stays the same Alton Towers are insensitive. If it changes Alton Towers are trying to cover up what happened. Given how high profile the incident was I see no real benefits to changing the theme or name.

I hope The Smiler reopens exactly like it was before. Same music, same videos, same name, same taglines... why change it? To please a bunch of idiots on Facebook that get offended by any little thing around them?

To be fair, it was a bit more than something for people to get offended by. This was a nasty event. One in all honestly I never thought we'd see at Alton Towers.

I know what you're saying about can't win either way, and it wasn't so much winning I was concerned with, rather than the whole idea of The Smiler was to basically warp you.

Don't get me wrong I understand the reasoning behind the "leave it alone" views.

Just feel it would benefit from a fresh start & that it's not really appropriate given the magnitude of the accident.

The theme grew on me, and I love the logo etc, just my personal opinion in this case overall.
