Towers Loving Care

It's definitely nicer than that drab grey colour. Don't see why it matters that it's all one colour?

Guys you are SO predictable - actually splitting hairs over the shade of grey/green used!! Oh dear, I imagine the chaps at Towers are having a few laughs at you ;-)

I really can't pick fault at the effort that's going on. My only issue is that rides and attractions (read: the park overall) should never have been left to get into such a state in the first place. Im no business mogul, and I have no idea how the management are allocated/disperse their budgets, but there should be a solid plan going forward that includes maintenance of every attraction on a fixed basis. "Minor" work such as patchwork repaints and deep cleaning is done during the closed season, but obviously this isn't enough to stop a rotting Nemesis monster or a filthy Air track. I really hope following the Oblivion repaint and the introduction of this TLC programme that it's a long term commitment to getting things spruced up on a permanent basis.

We can't have this "throw money at it this year" attitude only for us to be back at the same place in 2021.

I look forward to Towers going back to a place where attention to detail counts.

How can the UKs best theme park be the best, when it's falling apart at its rotten and dirty seams? Hopefully this isn't the case from here on out...

Here's to the 2016 season being a fresh start!

They could do with a laugh, 2015 season was rough on them

Nemesis monster after its last repaint, some years back.

Looking forward to see how this station repaint turns out this time when complete.

When was the last time nemesis's station was painted? The reaction on here sounds like it was 22 years ago (and tbh, that wouldn't surprise me)

I think Woodcutters colour fits with the area, yea you could say it's drab especially compared to how it opened but at least it's been a colour that does match with the area and not bright red

I was never a fan of the grey colour so the green is certainly an improvement, although still not as nice as when it first as before the Dark Forest took it over.

Can't be certain but it looks like the paving outside has had a good jet wash as well, looks cleaner than I remember it being!

:)

It's a bit laughable really isn't it? They've never had the budgets or staffing to cope with maintenance and refurbishments in the past. Now, after everything that's happened, they DEFINITELY do not have the budgets or man power for cleaning the place up.

What I don't expect from this:
- major refurbs/repainting/fixes to rides like Nemesis, Duel, Hex.
- improved theming (i.e. return of blood waterfalls)
- improved experiences on any ride (i.e. lighting or audio visual fixes)

What I do expect from this:
- coats of white paint carelessly rolled over anything with detail on it (think back to the monorail mural).
- the odd tree or bush to be trimmed (but not the mains gardens)
- rotten theming to be removed and not replaced (like Chessington, we have also already lost theming in the Rapids queueline which hasn't been replaced).

Are you going to eat your words? I can't wait to see what the team keep on doing, the park will look stunning once it is all finished. I have faith in the team behind this.

I may have to eat my words haha. The only thing on that list which I could have been wrong about (up to now) is ride repaints, but the jury is still out on Nemesis as whether it turns out to be a FULL refurb done right, or if they're just splashing white paint everywhere. Currently, the track looks as hideous as the Splash Landings repaints.

I do wonder where all this money is coming from though? £120k on Nemesis, then there's everything else which is going on and also Galactica. How come they never had the budgets to do any of this years ago? How come they're doing it at a time when 100's of staff are getting laid off and the parks operations, events, and entertainment is all being slashed.

Strange times.

Several possibilities.
Galatica isn't as expensive as building a new ride from scratch, so less CapEx this year spent.
Being closed on Tuesday/Wednesday during term-time is saving enough to pay for refurbs.
A clean, well-presented park looks and feels safer, helping to negate some of the Smiler issue.
They just realised they couldn't put these things off any longer.

Because the next/planned SW8 coaster has been scrapped? o_O
