Hmm... Very worrying...
Either staff or they are taking the student approach by counting their pennies and seeing what they can afford. Most of the eateries will be offering Beans on Toast after all the work on Nemesis

That is a very bizarre thing for them to say. They clearly do know as stock taking orders have to take place in advance. Although as most of the food around Towers is the same these days they'll probably just be able to share stock as and when which outlet they decide to open.

That is dreadful... imagine that in any other business. You message a Supermarket on Twitter. "Oh we will confirm what we are selling once we open!" there would be an uproar...

I genuinely feel sorry for any new starters in guest services this year. They could potentially have a busy and interesting first exposure to the customer service industry!

But those wanting to work there for the "magic"... er....
I've not hidden my desire to get hold of aspects of Towers & shake it up, but it's not under the illusion it would be "magical", but that it would be a fantastic(al?) challenge & the place deserves the best and I'd damn well fight for it!!
(I'd like to think, even those who disagree with me on opinions, wouldn't doubt that lol!)

I left this forum 3 years ago in part because I never had anything nice to say about Alton Towers, and I’ve re-joined today. The irony.
Anyway I've just seen this evenings update on TS FB.
I kind of understand ripping out the Ripsaw café. With no more Ripsaw and a big ticket restaurant opening next door it’s fair enough, but replacing it with vending machines just stinks of more short sightedness and piss poor planning.
Closing the Courtyard BBQ is a travesty. Surely there is no way that it doesn't make a healthy profit even on quiet days?

Don't forget they are replacing Fresh Fish & Chips with a Coffee Cafe, so there will still be somewhere in Forbidden Valley to grab a hot drink or a light snack.
It's a sad state of affairs when the UKs number one theme park cannot afford to keep itself running... I really hope things either hit them in the face this season, or they are allowed to open these food and drink venues in future seasons. I have a very bad feeling that if the figures look good enough to the powers above/Merlin, then the park will carry on like this, with probably more cuts.

Alton Towers have cut the pirate shows as well.
That area of the park is going to be desolate this year.

@GaryHolc Morning Gary , The Courtyard BBQ will not be open at the start of the season, however 'Courtyard Tavern' will be!
So basically, you can get plenty of alcohol if you want, but no food!! Interesting they say not open at the start of the season. I wonder if it will make an appearance in the summer.....

The courtyard I find odd, as it always seem to be fairly busy, even on a quiet day. Was quite expensive as well, so there must have been a bit of profit in it.
