Bargin!

HA! :D

But yes, Listen to Zola, it's a good book if you want to learn about Alton Castle Towers
will learn a lot more than what you will find on the boards dotted about the Towers :)

Thats if you can ever get in them, I can only presume the times I have seen people in them this year they have ignored the barriers and broken in regardless o_O

They were open on one of my visits in the first week or two. It looks like the good times are over haha. Scarefest does take a long time to prepare though I'll have you know!

Quite a few folk who are not happy about towers being closed today, yes its on their website, but why would you check, for the past 20+ yrs they have been open pretty much every day from opening day to season end.

Ive heard that the monorail has not been operating in the mornings.Could anyone shed any light on this? Cuz if its true i can re arrange where i will park my car so its closer to the entrance when i go on thursday.

Cheers all!

No idea if the monorail not operating is related to cost cutting or whether it has been having problems.

It's quite ironic really, the two days that the park is closed this week are the two nicest days of the week. Warm, sunny, hardly a cloud in the sky and Alton Towers is shut!

:)

Im not sure why it has not been running rob,i just wanted to know if the rumours were true!...If anyone who has recently visited the park, whether they have had to walk to the entrance from the car park.
Always a shame when towers is shut on a glorious day but im there tomoz and it should still be nice aswell with any luck!

Cheers all!

Probably best to just park at the top end of the car park anyway. It will be a pleasant day for the walk anyway and also you won't have to mix with and sit by smelly peasant people on the monorail which you will also waste time waiting for in the station ;)

Just to let you all know my lad messaged Alton towers and they replied saying that the monorail will be operating from 8:30am on Thursday so it will be open!

So thats spot on i love going on the monorail journey to the park even with all the other smelly peasants lol Barry!

Cheers all!

I was one of them, spoilt my whole lads weekend we have had to move all sorts round to accommodate their cuts. I know nothing will change but they need to know people are not happy. Booked hotels in January as usual only found out last week they are closed :(

Not really a lads weekend if the park being closed on a Tuesday/Wednesday affects the weekend plan ;-)

I see both sides, they released the closed dates in December giving plenty of notice, but no-one thought they would need to check them.

Starts saturday ends tuesday and far as I know they only gave details of the season in March note December

I know the closed rides were announced in March, but I believe the closed dates were announced earlier - not sure it was as early as December though.

Does anyone know why Galactica has been flooding? I dont recall this happening with the Air station.

not sure if this is the right place to post this but with the addition of the new path from the hotel to forbidden valley, it looks like alton towers are using a special design for their logo, as shown on the towers street facebook:

could it be possible that in the future this sort of design replaces the current logo in some form or another? their current logo looks very outdated in my opinion...

No, that text is an extension of the Enchanted Village theme, which makes sense as the path is somewhat themed in that vein. At least I very much doubt they would ever switch the main branding to match with that.

That text (in fact the entire sign) is copied from the Alton Towers adverts.

It's really nice to see they do put effort into little details and haven't simply got Leek Sign in again. Hopefully as Towers Street gets some more TLC over the years we see this style of signage installed throughout Towers Street.

With all the Towers Loving Care work, and the work on this new path (it's really well done as far as paths go), you do get the feeling there are people that care at Towers, and hopefully they can continue work like this over years to come.
