Major Ride Closures 2016

Ok, I'm obviously clueless about this sort of thing, but I doubt it would be closed off as much as it was if it was simply hanging lights. Probably wishful thinking, but I'd like to think something is happening with hex that were dismissing as scarefest prep.

I had to do a two day course on appropriate use of ladders just to change light bulbs when I worked in local government,
then they banned us from changing bulbs completely.
Had to use a trained handyman.
 
Maybe someone was tidying up storage, found a dusty box full of old Sub-Terra pens and though, hey lets put this on the shelves.
 
There's a small difference. The air merch is all part of the ATR merch sets that weren't sold last year. This is stand alone sub terra merch (they don't sell Ripsaw merch anymore). I know I'm probably over thinking this, but the fact it's still being sold points towards the ride opening at some point.
 
...or maybe they are trying to get rid of all the NST items before they either completely refurbish the ride with a new name or even remove it completely....?
