So i see last years Scarefest thread was set up before the event ended so i thought i would jump on the bandwagon and create one for next years event.

In the 2017 Scarefest I would like to see something new whilst having the variety this year's event did. Maybe a free maze or a new old style scarezone. TotT reworked as it had a poor reception this year.
 
Replace TotT completely, but keep the TotT name. what lies within just needs to be put out of its misery after 8 years.

Keep sub species as it is, but change a couple of scenes as they did this year so it's not predictable. more actors too. keep the finale where it is as it was fun watching people run out.

Get rid of skin snatchers or sort out the finale. tone down the actors a little as I was actually more scared of getting hurt by the actors pushing me about than the actual scares. don't care if it returns or not, but would rather have this than another year of what lies within.

Replace freak show, but perhaps use the props in a kids scarezone of some kind. It just wasn't scary in anyway.

I liked dark apocalypse, but I think it's had its time. three years would be a long run for a scarezone. wouldn't mind something like scary tales return (both the style of the zone, and the theme).

Keep house of monsters. just use feedback from this year to make small improvements, just keep it even if it means wobble world doesn't return.

Lighting this year was very good, I don't think much more needs doing really.
 
I'd hope for either a TOTT replacement or complete overhaul as well as keeping House of Monsters and improving both Scare zones. I'd keep sub species and Skin Snatchers, TOTT is iconic so may be overhauled instead of replaced. This year was a good but with overall maze improvements and better park wide theming could become miles ahead of the rest of UK parks for Halloween.

- Sub-Species to remain the same
- Minetours to remain the same apart from ending which needs tweaking
- TOTT to ditch the 'What Lies Within' theme, bring in a new story and modernise it. This needs to be a priority in 2017, they really can't leave it for much longer!
- Some changes to family ents, this has stayed the same for years also, could do with new shows and changes
- Scare zones to remain the same, perhaps add a third scare zone. I really liked Scary Tales so would like them to revisit that theme again!
- Lighting to continue to improve
- Try and add something more, something like Fright Lights in 2007 I'm thinking, not too costly but adds something extra. I'm perhaps being a bit unrealistic given the position the park is in currently
 
- Do something about that outdated TOTT.
- Skin snatchers (I thought it was hilarious) to return but juiced up a little, with the fake rock at the end moved so I don't smash my knee on it again on the way out!
- More chainsaws please, but could the wielders have potato sacks on their heads this time?
- Actors in Gloomy Wood and so called Haunted Hollow.
- More actors and street performers in general. Get rid of scarezones if needs be, I don't think they add anything really.
- Bring back the Skeletons on the Oblivion hole fencing and the rapids. I miss them.
- Bring back scare rooms in the hotel. In fact, tell the hotels that a bit of fake cob web and the odd pumpkin outside does not constitute a good effort for Scarefest.
- A maze over by the hotel areas like the olden days again would be great.
- Keep house of monsters but lower the price.
- continue with the lighting.
- Open till 22:00.

Keep Sub Species and Altonville Mine Tours as they were both fab - just change the finale for Altonville Mine Tour as t was a true 'what the hell is this?'

TotT needs changing or replaced with something different.

Keep House of Monsters but decrease the price or add to maze bundle

I would like to see the actors in the Haunted Hollow - it could be a scare zone maybe?

I would like Scary Tales back as that was brilliant when I did it. However I did like the current scare zones, Freak Show was a good new addition

Keep the lighting how it was around the park, Nemesis being red really adds to the atmosphere in that area and makes it perfect for photos, the same goes for Oblivion in Orange too

My point was that out of every clown scare attraction I've ever done, this was nowhere near scary. I'm not saying we shouldn't have a kids scare zone or actors of some kind (especially after the success of house of monsters), but I'd like to see something more.

I also don't like the theme of generic clown. at least carnival used clever animatronics and had some sense of story, and they've managed to move dark apocalypse away from generic zombie by putting a forbidden valley twist on it. clowns are much to simple.
 
Looking at the RR restaurant diary booking dates, the following dates are showing for the Scarefest event 14th & 15th and the 21st to 29th??????
 
I think House of Monsters should return with a slightly different story.
ToTT to be replaced by a new maze that takes advantage of the short layout.
Sub Species return, slight evolution of the theme.
Minetours return with a fixed exit.
Some sort of entertainment provided in the fountain square area, perhaps tying in with hex.
Roaming actors in the park.
Keep the lighting similar to 2016.
Forbidden Valley's walk through should be kept the same,
Walk throughs in both dark forest and near X-sector. (Perhaps behind Fried Chicken Co?)
 
I only have one suggestion and thats to ditch ToTT, it was dire last year. I would like to see either Carnival of Screams or Scary Tales return. Scary Tales would be quite good indoors, but beefed up a bit. You could have mutliple routes so you could experience different "fairy tales" during each walk through.....
 
This has been on the website for a while now but nobody has posted it in here yet so here we go:

This year's Scarefest will retain a similar schedule to 2016's event as it proved to be a success. 2017 dates are 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th, 20th-31st October. That's one more day than 2016's event :)

Personally I'd like to see Sub Species, Mine Tours (with a tweaked finale) & Freak Show return for 2017. I hope the Terror of the Towers brand remains but with a whole new maze as it was dire last year. I also didn't rate Dark Apocalypse last year and would prefer to see one of the old style scare zones return somewhere in Forbidden Valley. That way you would have one free flow scare zone with Freak Show and a walkthrough one in Forbidden Valley. I know it's a bit of a push but I'd also like to see a 4th maze. 4 mazes was the original plan for 2015's event so it is possible, it could be located in Goal Striker or somewhere else (where else could hold a maze with the Towers being full?), and if SW8 is going to be aimed at the thrill market, it could work as a build up to that as the Sanctuary did in 2012.
 
I think that the Haunted Hollow would be an amazing place for a scare zone. Or even somewhere where actors are roaming around/hiding and jumping out on people
