Would happily eat my hat though if it did.

I really hope it does reopen, I have a huge soft spot for the ride and I like it a lot. The theatrics and guest reactions are what make it extra special for me. It needs to reopen but knowing how much they've cut staffing down I'm not sure if or when it will. If staffing was/is the issue then why the hell install VR on Galactica effectively doubling the amount of staff needed to run it?

Because a different group of people are making the decision on what gets built vs. How many staff Operations can budget... but I've discussed that already in another topic.If staffing was/is the issue then why the hell install VR on Galactica effectively doubling the amount of staff needed to run it?
I also miss Sub-Terra. It was something different and while not perfect I love the concept. The sad thing is it didn't need to be so staff intensive. Had they built a proper ending from the start it could have run on as few staff as Hex.

If the ride does return I think it's most likely to operate seasonally. Maybe it could open for Scarefest.I really hope it does reopen, I have a huge soft spot for the ride and I like it a lot. Other than that I think we could see the ride being removed and replaced with a flat at some point in the future.

Such a shame what changes could be implemented to make it less staff intensive
Well how many staff members did it run with originally? Forgive me if the numbers are wrong, it's an estimate last time I rode N:SB was its opening weekend.
1 at the Queue line entrance
At least 3/4 at the ride entrance/lifts
1 staff member minimum for each tower, 4
a staff member operating the ride
various staff members at the "live" section in the end lets say 4/5
That's 15 members of staff at what I consider quite conservative estimates, again, someone can correct me if i'm way off.
But even if 15 is on the low side, that's an absurd amount of staff needed to run it. No other ride on the park requires any where near that many.
Even if you removed the after ride section, you're still looking at more than usual staff needed to run it efficiently

When I worked on it in the first year of it opening, there was usually;
1 x Welcome Host
1 x Merge Point
1 x Before lifts
2 x Baggage
2 x Chamber Hosts
1 x Operator
Entertainments ran the maze separately, but from what I know, it was about 3 Actors in the beginning
However, the ride can be ran with
1 x Merge Point (Also running the lifts)
1 x Baggage
2 x Chamber Hosts
1 x Operator
1 x Actor (Technically the Actor isn't actually needed, but it wouldn't be good without)

That doesn't sound too bad but remember that the value of the staff is relative to the number of people that ride the ride.When I worked on it in the first year of it opening, there was usually;

It's more reasonable to have more staff on rides that get lots of visitors. I think space would be much better used with a flat. Flats require less staff. Or they could run Sub-Terraas a Halloween attraction they don't seem to mind having more staff in Scarefest.

They've mentioned sub-terra a couple of times on twitter today
I think its safe to say that it will be re=opening at some point

Sub-Terra has certainly not been mothballed yet, it could well re-open. I think they would be foolish not to re-open it next year, the lack of support rides to the coasters at Towers is tragic (Hex, Duel, Rapids, Enterprise, Blade when you exclude kids rides). However it's going to need some money spending on it if it does re-open, the building looks a state.

The ride staff have been signed off on it to run so it could potentially open tomorrow. Not that it will. But you never know
