2019: Scandinavia & Snorri Touren

I would have thought the TUV would have insisted everything is fireproof. But when a blaze gets big enough, the heat alone can cause things nearby to spontaneously combust, regardless of what they are coated in.

I've just heard that Wodan is on fire

EDIT: I don't think it's true, but I can't find anything on it

I've just heard that Wodan is on fire

There's a lot of rumours floating round now, and as far as we're aware Wodan is NOT on fire. Some news outlets and people are tweeting that Wodan is on fire coupled with a pic from the Dreamland fire in Margate a few years back.

At present the park is now closed, and people on resort are not being allowed anywhere near the park, so it's unlikely you'll hear anything further at the moment.

Sadly (and weirdly) idiots jump on stuff like this for likes and popularity. We'll be posting on EuropaStreet Twitter/Facebook with any news that we can confirm via the park's official channels :)

Glad nobody, as we understand it, is injured.
All that work, care, and creativity ruined in such a short time, pretty tragic if you ask me.
From all that I've heard about the place, I can't imagine it will hold them back. They now have a large area to create new rides and themed areas, and I'm sure they will.

The fire started in a warehouse which then spread to Pirates and then Scandinavia. There were 500 personnel involved in dealing with the fire at it's height. There's still no decision on whether or not the park will open tomorrow.

Presumably they're working on how to deal with moving guests around the park and any potential power/utilities issues before deciding on opening and if so what they can open.

Sheeeeeeeeet, that must be one hot blaze to leap across the path through Scandinavia! :'(

There's some parts of the area where it's surprisingly narrow:

And not forgetting down toward the bottom where the two sides are actually connecting

They're all wooden buildings too, and photos show that they collapsed, so that won't have helped matters either. Top that off with 100 foot plus flames and I'm amazed that Holland came out of it relatively unscathed!

TPR have just uploaded a video onto YouTube that implies that Pirates in Batavia is a definite goner, if we didn't already know:

Does anyone know whether anything else (e.g. Fjord Rafting) is permanently gone, or is it just Batavia? Today has been a very sad day for the park. On the positive side, though, it's good that no people were injured.

As it stands at the moment, it looks like Scandinavia has been completely destroyed along with Pirates. Rapids has the trough running parallel to Scandinavia. With those buildings being destroyed, it'll be unsafe to run the rapids with them being so close to the trough. The troll tunnel also finished just next to the Scandinavian buildings, so there is potential for further damage there too :(

I can't see rapids opening for quite a lengthy period in all honesty, even if the troll tunnel is ok.

This is such awful awful news :( So many great memories of these areas and now it's all gone. My heart really goes out to the Mack family tonight. So much passion and care put into the park, I can barely look at these images. :(

Some positive news though. I see no reason why they can't rebuild. They will have all the plans.
