Scarefest 2018

Well I wouldn’t say it doesn’t tease anything.

The fact that they have ‘NST’ in the coordinates suggests that the NST brand isn’t dead yet. Given that the rides been shut for 3 years I’d argue the fact they’re still including it’s initials in that teaser is probably suggestive that it’s coming back in some capacity.
But they also had nemesis sub terror on the scaffolding tags aswell which means that its most likely just a reference to its location

Nemesis sub terra was very negatively received by a majority of people so from a marketing point they really have no reason to re open it as it would cost them more to operate it

Yes but from a marketing perspective why mention the name at all? It hasn’t even been open for 3 years so a good portion of people won’t even know what nemesis sub terra is, especially abbreviated.

If they were going to close the attraction, leave it dormant, replace it with a scaremaze under a different name and pretend it never happened then they’d be avoiding all reference to it, it’s also the only defunct ride that’s still on the website.

The story is about the Phalanx as well.

It’s getting to the point I’d be very surprised if it doesn’t reopen

I think that's an overstatement of how negative reviews were, it had mixed reviews.

In terms of cost, it won't cost them any extra to operate it in 2019 if they use staff from removing Galactica's VR and The Blade which are both rumoured to be removed.

It’s also cheaper than building a new ride, especially a thrill ride.

Alton needs more flats, they have one sat there dormant in an area of the park that desperately needs more rides, especially if Blade goes.

As I say I’d be surprised if it didn’t reopen, I’d imagine that they’ll rebrand it a bit and change it to counter the negative reviews.

N:ST is certainly not opening in it's previous form. That's a given now.

Project 42 is definitely a sequel to the ride and will be around for Scarefest for the next 3 years or so. If there is a replacement I won't expect it until 2022 at the earliest.

Lets not forget the alton towers dungeon is apperently going to be a thing. There have been multiple rumours about it being located in the sub terra building. So if they do open nemesis sub terra then chances are its not going to be the same as what it originally was

How can you possibly know these things?

Project 42 could be relocated, or may not make a return at all. It would be far from the first Scarefest maze to only operate for a single event.

Project 42 is more likely to run for the next 3-4 years as subspecies is on its final year this year altonville mine tours still has another 2-3 years left. All mazes at scarefest have ran between 4 and 5 years with the exception of molly crowe and terror of the towers

Again, how can you know this? It's pure speculation.

Molly Crowe, Scary Tales, Nox Infernus..... all attractions that only lasted one season.

Although I do think that the most likely option is for the relocation of Project 42 to the current Mine Tours location for next season.

I hope this is the last year for Mine Tours, it has been the weakest maze at Scarefest for every year since its debut.

If the Alton Towers dungeon was opening where sub terra is, they wouldn’t be doing a scaremaze there.

They’ll open the dungeon where Charlie is, reopen subterra. 2 new rides, minimal work.

I hardly doubt they will open a horror attraction that is aimed at adults in the most child friendly section of the park

I cant wait to see how long the effects work for in the new dungeon

Technically, Scary Tales and Nox Infernus are scarezones. For some reason scare zones only tend to last 1-2 years, whereas scare mazes last 3 or more years (I suppose because more effort is put in).

I know they are scare zones :)

With regards to effort put in, fair point with Nox Infernus but a hell of a lot of effort went into Scary Tales, just as much as a maze I'd imagine. It did feel more like a maze than a scare zone in parts.

The dungeons isn’t a horror attraction aimed at adults, it’s partially educational. I accept
It
Isn’t Charlie and the chocolate factory but it certainly isn’t a horror attraction. Sub terra on the other hand, is.

I think Project 42 is a way of bringing peoples attention back to NST and you'll see it re-open next season. There is no way they will simply just open it one day after it being closed so long, they'll want to make a fuss of it.
