Theme Park Worldwide's video from the charity preview is well worth a watch.
Circus Circus and Wipe Out both look like the standout flat rides this year. Wipe Out is fresh out of the KMG factory apparently.
No Breakdance, but Circus looks like a more than adequate replacement.

I had a random day off work yesterday so took myself down to Winter Wonderland for a few hours. It’s ridiculously quiet during the daytime but it still has a decent atmosphere and it’s worth mentioning that the layout this year definitely appears to be more spacious and better than previous years.
I did four rides with the highlight being the new for 2018/19 Dr.Archilbald Master of Time dark VR ride. I’m usually all about the coasters but this really was a very enjoyable ride. The quality of the VR was superb, and was miles better than the VR on Derren Brown’s ghost train which is ridiculous given that this is a travelling ride. The general look and theme of the ride was also great with the pre-show and theme line queue being very well themed. The fun house element which comes as you make your way to the exit was also an added bonus. Yes, it’s the most expensive ride in the park (joint with Olympia) but I’d say it is worth paying 9 pounds to experience it given the uniqueness and quality of the attraction as a whole.
I also did a back row ride on Olympia Looping and it was as intense as ever. However, the last half of the ride did appear to be more uncomfortable than previous rides due to the restrains being mega tight on my shoulders. You definitely have to get on this though if you do visit as it really is quite special for a travelling coaster! I also had a fun ride on the Wild Mouse XXL. This ride never disappoints, and in terms of value for money (£7) it’s one of the better options given the fun house themed queue line.
The final ride I went on was ‘The Hangover’, and fortunately (for once!), I wasn’t actually suffering from one whilst riding it. I had never done this before but it is definitely one of (if not) the best drop towers I have ever been on. The views at the top are stunning and this is another good example of a ride being not too bad in terms of value for money. I’m not sure whether or not it was because how quiet the park was, but my ride on it involved two drops (one from the halfway point and one from the very top). The wait to be dropped from the 85 metre peak of the ride must have been nearly ten minutes which was great in terms of building suspense and fear amongst us perched at the top of the tower. The ride op could also be heard bellowing ‘’Has anyone seen Final Destination? The wheels are all coming off’’ which again added to the intensity of the ride.
As I live in London, I’m sure there will be a few more visits to come over the festive period including a good jolly up in the Bavarian Village. As I previously touched upon, it isn’t cheap and as a result of this it wouldn’t be somewhere you would want to visit multiple times. However, for a fair, the ride line-up is very good indeed and the general atmosphere is definitely something that is well worth experiencing.

We were at the top of the Hangover for ages too, except it was cloudy and freezing. Still awesome though. As a general rule, if I see a drop tower then I'm riding it. Can't go wrong

Sounds like you basically get a cheaper and more thrilling version of the London Eye on The Hangover.

It's worth 1h30m on the train for me just to ride this again!
It's brilliant isn't it. I had a really long wait on it last time too but not sure if it was 10 minutes... that's crazy.

Definitely child friendly.
I really enjoyed dr Archibald but we did break down half way through which was interesting.
Hangover is now my favourite drop tower I’ve ever done. The ride op on that was hilarious, saying that he could drop us once he had disabled the brakes.
Olympia looping is now in my top 10 coasters, didn’t expect it to be as smooth as it was and so intense.
Really enjoyed wild Maus xxl and ice mountain.
Euro coaster was very strange and quite uncomfortable.
We did all the fun houses but my favourite had to be the hotel one with the mad house
We had a great time, was really expensive but so worth it.
Only downside was the fact they didn’t play any Christmas music and I was trying to get festive.

@speedy Yes, it was also very cold at the top of it on Monday but it all added to the experience..great ride.
@RicketyCricket Haha I've lived around London all my life and am yet to go on the London Eye but maybe I'll give it a miss now.
@Stuie The theming of Archibald genuinely blew me away, incredible for a travelling ride and yes, it is definitely worth the hour and a half journey for Olympia!

Scanned the whole site yesterday looking for Wingmans, and it seems it's not there this year
Sat in the fire pit bar all night so only went on one ride, Wipe Out. Really good fun! Absolutely bonkers when on full power over the top.
Didn't actually see Circus Curcus, where exactly is it?
I'll return in a couple of weeks to do some more rides.

Despite having seen it on one visit this year, I seemed to lose my bearings a bit when visiting today and didn't realise how far up the park it was. It's near the actual circus, just down from the Top Scan. Seemed to be running pretty well too.
Dr Archibald really is amazing, goes to show what VR can be when done properly and puts Merlin to shame considering this is a travelling ride!
@IanSR your lad shouldn’t have a problem on it, he can always remove headset if he doesn’t like it.
Queues this evening were pretty manic, Blizzard worst as there was 2 self formed queues in addition to the actual queue, people couldn’t work out who was queueing or watching. Other than that another great night and Looping looks amazing with its lights upgrade.

Tonight was unbelievably busy. We arrived around 5pm and queues to get into the park were huge, so left and came back at 7pm, when it was even busier, so gave up and decided to go back tomorrow instead.
A mixture of it being a pleasant evening, a Saturday and the first day of December, me thinks.
We arrived pretty much just after 5pm, I’ve learnt from past years it’s worth buying an attraction ticket just to fastrack and get straight into the park and today was one of those days (plus if you book the observation wheel you get up to 4 free hot chocolate courtesy of Google)
I think your right about it being first of December and the weather was pretty decent until it started raining at close.
Another thing that sounded good on paper but turns out to be a waste of time other than getting a free £5 is the coaster pass, you still need to queue up and get a ticket / token for the ride.
Last year if you paid by contactless then you got a different entrance and jumped a few people in the queue on some rides
It seems the only benefit of the pass is it encourages extra visits as the credit doesn’t expire until the end of event unlike the paper tickets which are only valid that day.

Yeah coaster pass collection let’s you use the Purple fastrack entrance!
The hut for pass collection is literally on the right as you go in via purple. If there’s a queue ask people if they are queuing for pass collection as the circus queue snakes up and down by the hut and caught us out for 10mins
