Been today. Didn’t go on the rapids, but had a very decent day. The lack of popularity for Nemesis enabled plenty of rides.

Spotted today. Someone needs to remeasure this 1.4m board.

I imagine the height stick was removed when they removed the merge host a few years back during the cuts after the Smiler crash. Need to take down the 1.4M sign really above it

I went on the rapids today and got absolutely soaked
How that happens with the state it’s in I can’t understand o_O

And another thing what’s happened to Hex
The music in the vault is so low. Can hear all the working and creaking as its turning

They have also turned down the smiler lift hill 1 music.
They had a few complaints last year about sensory issues could that be why the music has been turned down on smiler and HEX?

The music on lift 1 of The Smiler was horrendous (never understood why it was so loud) but Hex's soundtrack is vital to the experience and shouldn't be quiet IMO.

The lift mechanism on lift 1 seems to have been altered somewhat on The Smiler too. There's much less of a jolt now as the train engages with the chain.

Loud music only sounds uncomfortably loud if the right care hasn't been taken to design or maintain the sound system (or has been fiddled with since install), although it can be very complicated. Hex should be a loud but well-rounded and powerful finale, not thin . It used to have a brilliant audio 'moment' in the finale, without that on full whack (or if its harsh and tinny) you realise how not much is actually 'happening' in reality.

Smiler's audio was originally fun for the most part. It's had ups and downs since then and some memorable moments kind of lost

That’s what happens when you tamper/replace a sound system that didn’t need replacing.

The vault hasn’t had any major sound system changes as far as I am aware. It didn’t have a particularly complicated speaker system within it to begin with.

If the issues with the vault where due to complaints then the rest of the attraction would have had the volume turned down and it hasn’t. Guessing one of the big monitor speakers has died or someone has farted around with the volume controls.

Every single speaker and the backend audio equipment was replaced in 2016 for some reason, pretty sure it included the vault apparently. It's not really the complexity but the performance that matters, for whatever reasons it doesnt sound nearly as good today in the vault as it once did. And the rest the ride sounded much poorer ever since the 'TLC' redo (it may have been improved this year, havnt been on it)

The speakers Towers use are pretty decent to be fair, a few people have said the balance is off but thats debatable and is more a “set-up” issue than a tech issue.

It’s just a shame that money was spent on replacing a sound system that didn’t need replacing and now the sound is worse because of it. HEX was designed with the original sound system in mind and the speakers and their placements were chosen to produce the correct sound for the job. If they really needed to replace it more work should’ve been done to ensure they had set up the new sound system correctly. Or equally they should’ve replaced the equipment with like for like products.

In all fairness though HEX should be the least of our worries for sound when it comes to comparing it to Duel...
