X-Men: The Dark Phoenix

4/10

Who in the world looked at a franchise about mutants and decicded we need aliens, except the aliens are bulletproof. Lots of shots copied from Marvel. The film just seems to meander from Big fight scene to big fight scene with nothing in between. I mean the alien getting murdered by being teleported to the tracks just in front of a speeding train was pretty brutal so that's bumped the raiting up a bit.

It's just a pretty meh film. I liked it but I'm in no hurry to see it again. ever.

I saw this last week in 4DX at my local Cineworld, which made it a lot more interesting.

Just seen "The Happytime Murders".

If Avenue Q and Who Framed Roger Rabbit got off their tits on crack one night and queefed out a sprog, that was abandoned and adopted by Team America.... I'm pretty sure it would grow up to be this.

Avengers Endgame.

i saw this through my free month with Sky Cinema and oh boy.
This has to be the most overrated film ever known.

Now I already have a distaste to Marvel films due to the atrocious writing in these films with the forced jokes that are supposed to be funny but seriously this....

We have Thor who is now scruffy and fat and hiding out in a fishing village playing damn Fortnite and Hulk who is now kind and placid having pictures with children. Don’t get me started on Spider-Man, he’s god damn annoying as well as all of the guardian of the galaxy crew.....I mean Christ sake 2hrs and 50mins of this boring crap.
It’s 2 hrs of complete boredom to a 20min war scene (yes that was awesome) to the final 30 mins being boring and all of them friggin crying!......credits.
I honestly don’t see what people see in these films to make them remotely entertaining.
Like I said the writing for me is the biggest culprit and makes this film an absolute cringe fest to watch.

2/10

Dora and the Lost City of Gold

1.5/10

I mean the first twenty minutes or so are the highlight of the film with it taking a sharp turn for the worse after that. It's a bit dull and predictable, but I'm sure the actual target audience of the film would love it.

Blades of Glory

8/10

A great if a bit predicatble film about two male Ice Skaters with completely different personalitys are forced to skate together to compete, It's a great laugh though and I still enjoy it despite seeing it plenty of times.

Proud to say I gave up after the Empire struck back.
Law of diminishing returns.

I love the Return Of The Jedi and Return Of The Sith, my favourite films

I also loved Attack Of The Clones too. I've yet to see Rise Of Skywalker which I'm looking forward to seeing when it comes out on DVD :D

Star Wars
I only watch Star Wars in the Machete Order* and add Rogue One as an anthology film. Anything else by Dave Filoni and/or John Faverau is also recommended. (Clone Wars, Mandalorian, Rebels ).

All the other films are just terrible adverts for new toys. The ones above are just good adverts for toy..Action Figures :p

*4 & 5 for Luke's story. 2&3 for Anakin's story in flashbacks. 6 for the conclusion of the 2 stories.

JoJo Rabbit
Had the weather been terrible in Sandusky in October I would have spent less time at Lake Eerie and more time travelling to Norwalk to watch this film. Alas I had to wait until New Years day for the UK release to finally watch the film.

Going into the film I was expecting it to be laugh out funny but as with most films these days most of the funny bits were presented in the trailer or in the social media snippets from the marketing team. In hindsight I feel a little hoodwinked as the film largely goes beyond its comedy to some pretty dark places. This is simply convey the message of how war is terrible, propaganda can be used to influence the youth and its up to us to make our own minds up.

It's a film that will split audiences, yet still win awards. There's some great acting chops in the film but equally I felt the roles handed to Rebel Wilson and Alfie Allen were there to simply ham up the comedy. Stephen Merchents German-Bristolian accent was just terrible and should have taken the Chernobyl approach to do it all in his own accent. Although he does deliver the best joke in the whole film.

It's not Taiki Waititi's finest work but if you can look past some of the Allo Allo-esque comedy then there's a half decent film there. 7/10
