Theme Park Worldwide

My issue with this is that it should have gone straight to the police and not done over social media, it only went to the police from the accuser after it all kicked off and she deleted her twitter. There's a certain batch of enthusiasts that seem to be trying to do the police's job for them via social media, I just wish they would let the police look into the detail. I'm on the fence with this one as it's very easy to make an accusation, however I'm sure most are valid and correct. If the girl really has been subject to this abuse then I hope the police can prove it and she can get some kind of closure and get on with her life in a positive way.
But the original post from the accuser said that there was no evidence. Her gripe was the fact that the alleged person was seen in a recent tpww YouTube upload.

Theme Park Worldwide has just done a livestream about his plans for the next few weeks. Lots of people have asked on the comments about the allegations, the moderation team were quick to remove those posts. One person even did a superchat and asked about the allegations and that was deleted which caused a few complaints.

All of which should show TPW that they’ve handled it incorrectly.

What is the alternative if the police have told them to not comment further?
From day 1 they should have posted an actual statement pinned to the top, acknowledging the issue and stating it was now with the authorities.

Instead they went with the whack-a-mole approach of trying to censor everybody to hide the issue, that’s why they had people asking in the live thing - people weren’t happy as even though it’s apparently been reported to the authorities they still feel it’s being swept away like past issues.

They will learn in time that the approach they made was the wrong one. The reputation of tpww is in tatters as it stands as this isn’t going away. All it took was one small statement as I said before. All they had to say was they are appalled by the allegations and that they have distanced them selfs away from the people in question. That’s all it takes to make keep the situation at bay. It’s a weird situation but it just looks like from an outside point of view that they are trying to brush it under the carpet and try and protect their friends. Whatever when this is all over I’m sure as hell that people won’t stop mentioning it.

I wonder how many of these people actually care about the alleged victim or do they just enjoy bringing someone down...
I’m sure a lot of ppl care if found to be true. I don’t like the witch hunt on social media.

I wonder how many ppl actually care about the accused?

Something as serious as this should never come to a post on social media, it should be dealt with the authorities at the time of the offence.

Life doesn't work like that does it though? Looking further beyond this there have been a number of companies that have recently been called out on their practices. And how many times have the victims gone to the authorities but unable to push for any conviction for a number of reasons?

Social media allows (especially for those in more fan based industries) a wider support group as well as often allowing other victims to perhaps have the confidence to see that they're not the only one.

On the other side of course we get that everything must be black and white. Hence we get the opinions of guilty until proven innocent (cancel culture is just a problem all on its own) or the assumption that people just jump on the bandwagon because they "hate" a company.

If Shawn had any knowledge of the previous allegations (or indeed those messages) then he should suffer the consequences. Even if he personally didn't harrass anyone, to continually use someone who may have is a poor decision. Much like the decisions made in response to the allegations coming out to light.

If I were him I'd be wary of doing any Towers based video this weekend. Even just filming at the park is a potential minefield. But that is in turn to his poor response not just the allegations.

I’d probably guess that Shawn himself wasn’t aware of the allegations prior to filming a video with the accused in it; as I said, there’s only a certain degree to which he can control what his video stars do. Each of the vlogstars will still have their own private lives and their own social media channels, which Shawn has no control over whatsoever.

... allegations...

So I find out where you work, I tell your employer you have been sexually harassing me but unfortunately I've deleted all the evidence.

They sack you because, you know, it's just not right to continue to use someone in those circumstances, just in case.

But you actually did nothing wrong.

How are you feeling about that?

Evidence is now being circulated on Twitter against certain individuals.

That's not good, it could derail the case. Evidence should not be posted online or anywhere unless it's made public by the Police/CPS.

That's the trouble though, I'm sure many on Twitter don't understand that point or if they do, they don't care, not realising that posting all this stuff could stop justice being brought for the very people they are trying to support - the victim(s).

Yeah it seems that the actions of how tpww have gone about this have made the situation a lot worse. Just quickly looking through twitter is shocking really what’s coming out and how they are going about the situation. Each to their own but who the hell does a q&a session while this is still is going on. Sadly it’s just going to get worse as it goes on unfortunately.

You have to bear in mind though that we do not know what TPWW did at the point all this started. They could've got straight onto a solicitor and they could've told them to "stick that notice out and say nothing more" and stay quiet, knowing that saying more could impede any investigation that could have (and seems to have) followed. Or, on the other hand, they thought staying quiet hoping it will all blow over was the best thing to do. As I saw somewhere (may have been on this thread), TPWW are not a huge company with polices in place to implement in the event of something like this. As it is in the hands of the police now, TPWW would be pretty silly to not have spoken to a solicitor by now and they most definitely would've said at this point to say nothing more about it until the investigation is over.

No one apart from tpww knows what’s go on behind the scenes but the problem so many people have is everything just carrying on like normal. When the allegations first come out it should of been a quick message just to say they are appalled and that the people in question won’t be involved until the investigation is done. It’s something as simple as that would of made things less manic. To more they try and hope it goes away the longer it will go on even after the dust has settled this is never going to end. The simple thing to do right now would be just back off filming and getting involved for now but instead you bet they will be vlogging Saturday. It’s the lack of understanding how to deal with this crisis thats actually damaging the reputation of tpww further.

In hindsight (that is a wonderful thing) maybe that is what he should've done. But he didnt. For all we know, he panicked and did what he thought was right at the time. Like i say, he may now have had legal advice to "carry on as normal" after acknowledging the accusation (the statement he made). Or he may not. We'll never know. Either way, only a brave TPWW will vlog this weekend!
