Won't be the first time this has happened with a theme park community and the response is to try and brush it under the carpet (or do the bare minimum to remove it from the community).
There are always going to be individuals like that. Whether it is known to others is... Variable. Much like with other cases (usually involving bands), sometimes you do wonder if the others are blissfully unaware of shenanigans or just ignoring it because the person involved is a friend or whatever.
It probably won't be the last time anyone is in such a position. Unfortunately.

Which is a crime. You present that evidence, you hold a trial, you convict, that is public record. Anything else is just rumour.
These are serious things people are being accused of with no apparent meaningful ability to defend themselves. That's a very dangerous game to be playing.
You can't 'vet people better' if they've got no previous convictions. There's nothing to be vetted and you can't simply look into someone's soul and see if they are a wrong'un or mot, even in areas of highest security clearance you could never know let alone a one man band YouTube channel.
When people get arrested for this stuff it is usually a huge shock to everyone they've ever know, even the very closest friends and family. To decide an employer or friend or however you describe their relationship is guilty by association is likely to be grossly unfair.

There's a difference between taking a video down (as Gary suggests) and taking comments down.
A video can be deemed no longer appropriate and removed to show you agree it is inappropriate.
Removing people's comments is taking away people's ability to express an opinion.
Or you could say it's the difference between censoring yourself and censoring others.

Once you’re aware of the hidden replies icon on twitter the feature becomes pretty counteractive. May as well just retweet them at that point.
If it is true then it’s absolutely disgusting. I have a feeling though that there will be people who will drag Shawn’s reputation down regardless of him being aware.
The pitch forks come out ten fold when someone’s in the height of success. (Let’s face it from a vlogger point of view he’s pretty much become a success)
IF he wasn’t aware of these on goings then I think he really should make a statement addressing the matter with regards to his channel going forward and cut ties with the accused because being quiet will only fuel the fire.

I personally would like him to say that those Facebook group messages was faked. If and I mean big if they do come out to be genuine then I hope his downfall is quick. But I’d rather clarity first before my pitchfork is out.

Hold up so you're saying he's not been removing comments? thats what I had assumed by reading all the posts in this topic!
If so then this is exactly why we shouldn't start accusing people of stuff without being clear on the facts. Turning Twitter off or not retweeting someone is a completely different thing to removing tweets which is what this topic implied TPWW was doing.
So what's actually been happening? Have people's messages been removed or just ignored? If they've just been ignored that's actually the correct course of action at this time as a statement has been made and commenting further would only complicate the situation.

I have seen of twitter that the girl in question who has made the allegations has admitted she has no proof and that all messages were deleted.
Good on her coming forward but without a shred of evidence she's going to struggle.
I find it quite troubling that young people look up to these people as 'stars' as she worded it too. They are not stars or famous. Most of them have regular jobs. In fact only Shawn I'd say makes a decent wage out of any of this.

So on Twitter comments arn't deleted they are hidden. I get that now. Can you tell I don't use social media much?
In which case hidding them is just as bad as removing comments. I suspect the hide option only exists as a social media work around. People can moderate their posts without having the full power of a moderator. Hidding a post shows they would have deleted it if they could.

Could be some distancing themselves or to stop people saving data / screenshots.
To be expected to be fair, I think they are starting to realise this isn’t going away anytime soon so I guess we won’t be seeing many of them for a while.

Correct me if I'm wrong then, but it reads...
The entirely of this is one person saying they received inappropriate messages from another person, but has no evidence to back this claim up?
And the general consensus is it's fine to presume that person's guilt, remove him from everything, and try to destroy the livelihood of one of his friends?
Do people not see the imbalance of power in that scenario?

It opened up a can of worms to be more people coming out with what’s happened to them. Obviously it’s all just allegations at the moment but they have no motive these people ain’t mega rich celebrity’s these are just vloggers who got popular so im struggling to see what anyone who’s made an allegation achieves from this apart from getting their side of the story out?.
