...but it relaxes you SO much you fall fast asleep. Well, I know I do!Gruffalo may not be as pretty as bubble works was but its still fun. The queue usually moves pretty quickly and it's a nice way to relax.

If only it would - would be the one & only fun part. The final drop does serves a purpose though - to awake me from my slumber. How can you sleep when there is the peril of will the boat tip over on the final drop?

The BBC were at Chessington today, and there were decidedly mixed reviews from punters

I dunno, not sure I'd say "decidedly mixed reviews". There was one very miserable man who wasn't happy, but everyone else they interviewed seemed very happy with the park. I think I'd describe that as "generally positive" at worstThe BBC were at Chessington today, and there were decidedly mixed reviews from punters

This review on Trip Advisor shocked me:

If the link doesn't work properly it's the recent review "Filthy rides...", with a picture of Tuk Tuk Turmoil. I know the track on Tuk Tuk Turmoil gets really rusty when the ride's not used for a while. That's not the case on all Dodgems. I think on Chessington's the canopy doesn't protrude that far over the side of the track, so rain gets blown onto the track and makes it go rusty. That rust is then a bit difficult to get off.
But the cars don't look like they've had even 15 minutes worth of cleaning. You'd think that in the current crisis parks would be doing all they can to show that they've got stringent cleaning regimes. From the sounds of it they are taking covid seriously, but things like this won't inspire confidence in the public. I understand that the staff have been furloughed, but you'd think you'd get all the staff in for half a day doing a thorough clean before opening to the public. The Dodgems doesn't even look like they spent half an hour.

@Funcone The Dodgems have looked like that ever since they were painted that way 10 years ago, it's not real dirt.
I was going to say the same about the paint job, they are meant to look like Tuk Tuks that are in use in India, but even if the ride isn't running, they could at least give the seats a wipe over, or stick a tarp over to keep the dust out.

This is a fantastic read on how to design theme parks and how Chessington was set up by John Wardley
That's a great find.
Just remembered 8 year old me drew a rollercoaster using a pencil and posted it to Chessington asking them to build it. They didn't go ahead with my multi looping Vampire extension but sent back a really nice letter and a keyring.

I can't vouch for the reliability of the source but I saw a comment on facebook today claiming that it does.Has anyone found out if dragons fury has the same complete ban on single riders that spinball Whizzer has?

Been to Chessington today, Dragon's Fury does not have a ban on single riders.
