Cedar Point: General Discussion

I'd say if it's to replace the Mine Ride you'd hope they go for a ride that hits a similar market so more family thrill orientated than Mystic Timbers. They could balance it off with a high thrill flat ride in the area.

I'd welcome a top family coaster in that spot. Would be welcome addition.

However that's not Cedar Points main market and after a pandemic where they will have lost millions I'd wager they go for a thrill ride to try and recoup some of the lost revenue.

In my opinion I can’t imagine a woodie being high on their wish list with Steel Vengeance dominating their lineup and the skyline... Whilst we know the difference between a woodie and a hybrid is more than visual, I feel that that GP look at the coaster and think “it’s wooden”.

Saying that, I likely wouldn’t have put KI down as wanting a woodie what with them having Beast and yet Mystic Timbers arrived!

It’s funny because the wooden coaster rumour mill for CP has been going since at least early 2018. I was queueing for Magnum in May 2018 when I overheard an American enthusiast saying the park was considering a GCI but he wasn’t sure of the location.

The Arrow mine train will be no great loss in my experience, and I can see why it might be considered to be coming to the end of its life.

I suppose we will wait and see!

I’d say Gemini would be a loss however as it’s very rare indeed, it’s literally a hidden gem among Cedars biggest coasters, I feel like it’s sometimes over looked by enthusiasts and the Gp who love Dragster and millennium force!

I really enjoyed it!! A real surprise among the lineup. Was very sad to only do one of the sides though.

I would like to think there are other, more appropriate, attractions that could be earmarked for removal (I.e Cedar Creek Mine Ride!).

I do wonder what Cedar Point can conjure up because they did the entrance plaza with Space Spiral and Disaster Transport in 2013, Rougarou and Valrvn, then Steel Vengeance, all investments have been successful apart from that log flume I've forgotten the name of!

Cedar point's customer service is insane, just look at how much compo these people got when they were evac'd off Millennium Force! Seeing how the evac is done is also really cool. Being evac'd from a coaster is my dream :p

Top marks Cedar Point :)

Holy cow, after seeing that evac process I am glad they got the damn thing going again, even if it did take 45 minutes. We were stuck about 200 ft up on the front row and I am not sure how I would have coped being harnessed off the ride!

We too got great compensation though; 50% off entry, all day dining, normal exit passed and SteVe exit passed. Could not fault their customer service!

Plus you would've been the last off being at the front. Worst place to sit if an evac is required. :p

So I found out this morning that my parents will be taking me to Cedar point in the summer next year (hopefully depending on covid). I don't know what to say tbh, it's somewhere I've always dreamed of going so actually going will be unreal. I also haven't done an RMC before, so will be interesting to see what I think of SteVe. Has anyone been before out of interest and what do you think are the best coasters there based on your experience?

Hope you're able to go, it's a great place to visit.

My personal top 3 would be

Steel Vengeance
Maverick
Top Thrill Dragster

However most of the other coasters are excellent as well, if Magnum, Raptor, or Millennium Force operated in the UK they'd be the best coaster in the country by a mile.

Just take your time going round the park to take it all in, go on the chair lift, Cedar downs, take a trip on the railway. Make sure you take a stroll down the frontier trail and after getting soaked on the rapids have a look in all the little shops making and selling items.

Steel Vengeance and Maverick are easily the best two coaster at Cedar Point in my opinion. But there are so many great coasters at the park with so much variety in terms of what they ofher. The only thing that they are really missing now is a top class wooden coaster. Blue Streak is good fun but more of a family coaster.

Yes I've heard that SteVe is the best in the world. Would you say this is true? Also have any of you been on zadra and how does it compare? I'm looking forward to see iron gwazi too
