After an extremely challenging year the charity of which I am VC of finally managed to stage a fundraising event and head out on our Santa Float.
We had to scrap our Beer Festival, Raft Race and Pensioners Party because 2020! However after months of toiling through changes, planning for tiers 1-3, the possibility of cancelling because of November's lockdown, even the changes on the 19th of Dec nearly canned out last evening because it straddles the Welsh border and us having to prepare for the possibility of running the event at costs or even a loss, we actually ended up nailing it!
Not only did we manage to bring a lot of cheer to people's doorsteps, we made a record profit (of which every penny is reinvested back into the area), our social media campaign was adapted nationally and our Social Media channels have more than doubled due to the event. All run by volunteers who work full time and pretty much neglected our own families in December just to make it happen! I'm so proud in everyone's ability to step up and really proud to have out my own little stamp on it. However the smiles on families faces and the rewarding messages far outshines it all, it was so important to get out and make people happy and we did just that
But by far the best bit was randomly pulling into a care home car park and bringing some joy to those who have been isolating without much cheer this year.
Now I've been able to relax, enjoy and digest everything that's happened I am so happy with all that we achieved.
Merry Christmas everyone at Tower Street

After a mildly stressful afternoon - partly due to my own stupidity - I'm now sorted on my second year with the Open University in terms of financing my modules.
Just need to wait for everything to be confirmed within the next day or two, and then it's full steam ahead at the end of the month!
Agreed.
I'm now old enough and fat enough to get a big leather recliner.
Only get out of it to chuck another log on the fire, when I turn round, the dog is sat in it, laughing at me.
Three legged little shit.
Edit...sorry, thought we were in the Tavern...I start drinking early sometimes in the snow.
