Busch Gardens Williamsburg: General Discussion

Away from Project 2021 news and going back to Pantheon. There is a Pantheon construction tour taking place for fansites later on today, but the park seem to have taken offence to BGWFans recent 2021 leaks (despite most coming from public documents) and have decided to not invite them along. So in protest, BGWFans have gone full TT and taken to the skies to get an aerial photo update ahead of the tour.

Below are some of the photos, but they can all be seen over on BGWFans here.

That outer banked turn looks incredible!

Great to see this update from BGW fans credit to them for chartering a plane to do this.

Looks like construction is nearly finished, can see this beating out Orion to be the first of major coaster for the states to finish construction for 2020 and am very confident that it will be open by my June visit!

Texas Stingray is already complete and testing!

It would have been a better fit for Tampa for sure,

When I think major coasters for next year I'm thinking of Jersy Devil, Pantheon, Iron Gwazi and Orion- rides that are likely to be world class. I'm sure Stingray will be a great ride but not enough to put it on the map for me (we are going to be fairly close to SWSA on our trip but have other parks we are prioritising instead).

Not sure Pantehon would have been the best fit for Tampa since they already have Cheetah Hunt

The speed, length and height stats are really nothing special for a GCI - it's not exactly Wood Coaster @ Knight Valley. Mystic Timbers is overated anyway, it's a fairly standard GCI with a show scene.

So yeah, not one of the major new US coasters for 2020.

I fail to see how one of the biggest wooden coasters of the past two decades could not be considered a major ride but each to their own. It's not that important really haha.

In terms of Pantheon, looks ace, not sold on the colour scheme yet. Hopefully it's landscaped well.

It looks like such a fun ride. US parks have stepped their games up recently. Some brilliant new coasters either just opened or coming very soon.
I'm must say there are some incredible rides opening in the states next year and hopefully, depending on Jersy Devil, I should be getting on most of them except for gwazi this year!

Pantheon had the potential to be a number one ride for me. It's got a lot of airtime hills, a unique launch system, some crazy RMClike elements and a decent ride length to it.

BGW have posted this awesome photo showing Pantheon's entire layout:

And a train is now on the circuit:

Looks like front seat is going to be an amazing ride!- your so exposed on there.

Is the ring instead of the buffer on the front for the pull through of the train?

Didn't realise how spaced out this is. I'm sure this will still be amazing but the compact nature of similar Intamin models certainly contributes to the overall experience.

Also remember that you do the second launch spike section of track 3 times which adds a significant length to the ride- that's how they manage to to get a over 2 Min ride time

That thing looks seriously good.

They definitely need to fill in the middle of the coaster with some trees, planting and rocks etc. It looks rather bland with all that empty space in between. But knowing Busch I'm sure they will.

This is Taylor's (of coaster Studios) home park isn't it? What a lucky so and so he is.

Saw a few testing videos of the weekend and it is shaping up very nicely indeed! The outward banked turn/hill could be quite special.
