The Chocolate Suite in the Alton Towers Hotel has had a makeover and is now sponsored by Cadbury’s. It’s a bit of a throwback to the original chocolate room from when the hotel first opened, although it is not the same actual room.

Maybe it’s a matter of opinion with this one, as I do prefer the modern simpler designs. As it’s somewhere I want to relax, I don’t think too busy is a good thing. So I see it as a improvement for myself.I've noticed that a few of the new / refurbished suites aren't a patch on the originals, particularly the Coca~Cola suite which looks horrendously bland. I always wanted to stay in the original but the new one not at all, the same can be said for the Chocolate Suite. Points for them for refurbishing but unfortunately it still goes back to if its not broke don't fix it, just renovate it. If you look at the Splish Splash Room and the Big Pyjama Room compared to the newer Chocolate or Princess room you can see a huge difference in quality and its definitely not for the better. They look like a bog standard room you could create from Ikea, not a themed suite.

Looks great, and I can see lots of quirky little details in the background! Is chocolate still being put into the room like it used to be?
Oh wow; so there’s quite a bit of chocolate on offer, then! There will be an in-room vending machine somewhere!
Vending machine is probably the wrong term. It'll just be a box with a knob to turn which drops a chocolate out and I expect it'll only be a tubs worth if it's anything like it used to be.Oh wow; so there’s quite a bit of chocolate on offer, then!
I’d personally argue that a tub’s worth of chocolate is still an awful lot of chocolate for an average family, especially considering that you can ring down to reception and ask for more if you want more!
