Does anyone know if non-residents are allowed into the resort hotels (CBeebies aside of course) at the moment due to covid-19 procesures?

No they're only for hotel guests.

I’ve had no issues going in to Splash or ATH since they reopened in July and I’ve not been stopping over.

Looks like the Dragons Bar has been ripped out and replaced:

Looks like it’s been extended right along the wall now, so it’s a much bigger bar now which is probably needed as it did always feel tiny with not much room for the staff behind it,

Let’s hope they manage to employ more than two people to stand behind it to serve ;)

I highly doubt it, I’ve been using the hotels for years and the service has always been the slowest bar in the world, even with 10 staff behind it they still manage to somehow be even slower than the usual one staff member.

It’s just a really bizarre set up, you would think a bar would do everything they can’t do to get you served quickly, but towers seem to go out there way to serve you slowly. So you probably just don’t bother going for another drink.

This just shows how crazy Towers / Merlins chain of thought is. There is serious profit to be made on alcohol sales - especially at the prices they charge. You only have to look at a Center Parcs Parc Market prices on alcohol - people will pay when they are a captive audience & there is no other easy [cheaper] option nearby.

I remember when you didn’t even have to go to the bar and it was all table service!

Not that it makes the service any quicker! Using annual pass was a nightmare, having to ask multiple staff how to do it and then having to get someone sent to us to take our order.

I believe in the end after a few months they did decide to add a code to the system (something the park had been doing since July) for pass discount.

Then for some reason it was the opposite in splash, where you queued up at the bar as normal (until the laws changed).

Ah yes, the annual pass discount code. What a joke that was. I was given four different codes at Splash, each time the bar staff making phone calls or disappearing to try and find the code, and when they eventually returned it still didn't work. They gave up in the end and manually put it through the till.

You would think they would print out the code when the bar opens rather than start a game of Chinese whispers when the first person asks for the code. That or actually have a system fit for purpose that takes your pass number rather than a generic code that anybody could use...

The thing is on park it was always the same code, something like APWC20 for woodcutters or APEP20 for pizza, etc. Yet the hotels seem to change on a daily basis, and you still had to go to the bar to find out what it was.
