General Queue Times Discussion

In fairness, this is the sort of time where everyone’s just entering the park and starting to get into the queue for rides, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the queues go down a bit later.

I remember Wicker Man’s queue was initially quite high yesterday, but went down as the day progressed.

I don't understand how the smiler is so high though. Isn't it's capacity like an hour? Maybe it's fastrack idk

Maybe operations are slow. Maybe it is on fewer trains. Maybe there is a load of RAP. Maybe there is a load of fastrack. Maybe the queue time is wrong. Maybe social distancing is different in the queue.

Impossible to know when you are sat at a computer! Croc Drop at Chessington was 180 minutes the other day. I have no idea how that is even possible but clearly it was.

They could only load 8 guests at a time due to the weather conditions I think.

Yes it is daft. It's a rip off aswell

If people are willing to pay for fasttrack, why would it be a rip off? People are free not to pay for it.

I am not sure it’s the best circumstances to sell it in on rides that can’t fill all seats. But if people are willing to pay those prices it’s not a rip off.

Begs the question what are they are doing on Thirteen. RAP used the Fast Track entrance last season as the usual RAP entrance merges with the exit. Maybe they're merging Fastrack and RAP?

It is a rip off if the only way you can have a decent day out is by paying for Fastrack.

The overselling of Fastrack was bad enough before Covid kicked off, but with all the extra faff involved it's going to be next to impossible to have a decent day out without it.

You're right, nobody has to pay it, but it's getting to the point where the alternative of not doing so isn't really worth it.

I've not found it that bad and not really felt I've never had a really bad day at AT. but then i don't go to the parks too often now. Thorpe however does have a bigger FT issue.

I really think FT would be better if it was a more limited number at a much higher price. So the few that want to pay can, but its not too many people using it.

The solution to that is less fastrack sold at a higher price, not cheaper fastrack for everyone.

In terms of Smiler, there's an argument that if they don't have enough queue space for it then just sell more fastrack so the full queue takes longer to try and deter people from joining it. I'd rather have a fast moving queue but if they're constantly having to close it on account of running out of space then it makes sense to try to solve that issue whilst raking in £££ at the same time.

That's a good point. Don't think people will be put off by 90 minutes though. If people are willing to wait that for wicker man then I'm sure they will for the smiler

I don’t know; maybe they’re running a different number of trains or something?
From looking at the ORP smiler is running 3 trains (one of the trains have seats number written on the side of the seats and none of the trains in the photos have the numbers on)
