General Queue Times Discussion

It really is busy. Given the low capacity on rides like Th13teen, Hex and Wicker Man at the moment, the queues are absolutely massive across the park - with some rides closed due to technical issues thus exacerbating waits.

We have recently started to see 'Queue at Capacity' on more rides than just Smiler...

Currently Rapids, Th13teen and RMT are "at capacity", with Smiler & Gangsta posting waits over 100 minutes.

It’s the same across all Merlin parks, they have all clearly increased capacity massively compared to last season.

There was a constant 4 or 5 rides always at capacity at Chessie on Sunday, with all parks having other rides at 100+ min waits all day. Social distancing is very much gone (and I would say impossible in open areas of the parks due to the amount of guests), so queues are actually worse as everyone is stood together, but rides are still running at low capacity.

Duel is currently also closed as its queue has hit capacity, the same has happened to Hex, Mine Train, GG, Rapids, Thirteen - all within the last day!

I guess as reliability is dreadful today, and was poor yesterday, it funnels everyone into remaining rides. I mean right now, the only coasters you can join a queue for are Spinball, Nemesis and Octonauts.

Isn’t RMT open as well?

I guess 3 coasters out of 10 is better than nothing…

Have they reduced the number of engineers or something? Never seen that many coasters down all at the same time for so long

Maybe it’s just one of those days where loads of breakdowns occur at once; a perfect storm of ride breakdowns, if you like?

Totally agree with @AstroDan the availability and ride reliability today is shambolic. I do like that they are stating the queue times now for those rides at capacity rather than just saying closed. 2 hours for the smiler at capacity with barely any social distancing, that's got to be a joke right? It's 150 mins with the trains full pre covid let alone with reduced throughput. Wouldn't be surprised if its at least 150 mins

No wonder it's busy, schools off, lovely weather, lockdown restrctions lifted, possible 3rd wave incoming. The result is people feel they have to go.

Combine that with limited capacity on the rides, and gremlins and it's a perfect storm for complaints.

Is Wickerman still broken down today or is the queue just at capacity? Not sure how you're supposed to tell?

So it can't have its own topic reliability??? Anyway its a discrace at what point can you ask for a refund due to ride availability??? Its crazy here today and if you paid full price today questions need to be asked. People around are not happy!!! Just imagine if it was full capacity? It no hotter than they should be expecting for summer anyway either

Seems fairly full to me. Not many other parks where queues are reaching 2 hours during a pandemic. Seems strangley like the capacity is much higher than it should be...

Heck, even Battle Galleons is on 65 minutes!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Battle Galleons with a queue before on any of my visits… I guess this is one of the days of the year where it comes in most useful.
