Well they seem to manage at weekends. One thinks they need to start recruiting

Did you read the article? It literally says that's exactly what they are doing, recruiting...

The nature of a seasonal job like Towers usually attracts students on part time jobs, so they will naturally have more staff at weekends than in the week.

Oh no sorry I just scrolled through the discussion and briefly read over messages. I'll read the article now
Edit: Jesus 200 vacancies for park staff, they don't need that many surely

Restrictions coming to an end soon(ish?), summer holidays on the horizon, and extended openings mean an evolving twin shift...late starts to cover the evening openings.
And stop calling me shirley.

It would appear that queues have reduced a fair bit now that rides are filling all rows again; WM is only on 45! Thirteen is still on 80, but even that’s lower than it was a bit back!

Out of interest, is it still one group per row, or are things like single rider back in operation as well?

You can see that filling all rows is having an impact because Wicker Man is down at 30 minutes (on a Saturday!) It's also a goodbye to the Thirteen dummies!
EDIT: Nevermind about the dummies, just saw the other thread.

Yesterday there was no single rider on anything and all rides it was one group per car on most things (eg. on Thirteen a family of 4 sat on Rows 1/2, as a group of 2 we were told to sit on Row 4 leaving Row 3 empty), that was the same on most things

EDIT: Sorry can see from another thread some rides are from today trialing filling more rows so may not be correct anymore!

I think we are getting confused, currently single rider and single rider queues are different things, there are no single rider queues at all. There are no single riders on spinball and rapids ATM.

However the trial that has been started today (filling all seats on Smiler and allowing groups to mix on the same row) does mean that the single rider queue line could be reinstated.

There is on the smiler. That's why I was wondering if it had come back

no i dont think the single rider queue is back but hopefully when they decide to stick with this plan then they will possibly consider bringing it back!

Personally I wouldn’t want a stranger sat next to me on a coaster right now. I get the risk is about the same forwards and backwards, particularly on a moving train. Also the risk is low outdoors with masks on.
But right now I don’t feel like I want to be forced to sit right next to a stranger. But loading every row is fine.

I dont see how sitting next to a stranger for a couple minutes can be as bad as them standing right next to you in a long queue
