If you’d be interested to hear, I did do some throughput timings on my trip!
  • Wicker Man: 985pph on 3 trains (average of 5), 820pph on 2 trains (average of 4)
  • Nemesis: 1,231pph (average of 6)
  • Thirteen: 1,199pph (average of 2)
  • Galactica: 1,048pph (average of 4)
  • Oblivion: 885pph on 5 cars/2 stations (average of 5), 633pph on 4 cars/1 station (average of 3)
Do these timings seem accurate/good to you?

Have a look at 'Coaster Bot' YouTube channel. He has a video called 'How fast are Alton Towers operations' (Playlist: Analytical Theme Park Videos) done back in June this year with some pph calculations and comparison to manufacture quoted through put.

Id like to be starting at TH13TEEN next Friday, but I can't remember the last time it actually opened at 10am. It seems to be closed an awful lot lately.

The good thing about a coaster being down is that as soon as it opens everyone will go there, meaning lower queues than normal for everything else
Agreed. First time I ever rode Nemmy was just after it re-opened from a technical delay, and there was quite a big crowd outside the queue gate waiting for it to open.

Was admittedly expecting it to be busier today than it is. There isn't much difference to the queues compared to the rest of the week
That’s good to hear! Could the park have upped rides back to full capacity, as you suggested in another thread?

I don’t think “midweek” necessarily means “lowered capacity”, though; I went on a Monday back in June, and Wicker Man was on 3 trains and Oblivion was on 2 stations!

You have to remember that with everyone having to book in advance online at the moment (even passholders), it's easier for Towers to predict how busy the park will be and adust opening times and operations accordingly. :)

I'm there next Friday and I really hope it's this quiet. There's only 2 rides at the minute which you probably wouldn't bother queueing for (Wicker Man on 45 and Rita on 60) especially when everything else is under 15 (not counting The Smiler's SRQ)

Well I think it's a safe bet to say Galactica is on 2 stations. Not sure on Oblivion as that said 70 earlier which there's no way it would be on dual stations

Funk'n'Fly is back on but the Rapids are closed again. They can't catch a break without something being closed all day it seems recently.

Wonder if the queues at scarefest will surpass the ones we saw in the summer. They usually do but this summer was busier than normal
