Theme Park Worldwide

Away from the big news of Nemesis’ retrack, it appears that Shawn and Charlotte got engaged on their recent California trip, with Shawn proposing in front of Disneyland’s castle:

What lovely news; congratulations to the happy couple!

Well i am made up for them.
I wonder if they are going to get married in smilers station.

Fair play to them but I don't think Shawn thought the location through very well for a proposal.

When I proposed to my good lady back in 2006, I choose Niagara Falls not just because of the location with the sight and sounds of the falls in the background... But because if she had said No, I could push her over the edge and forget we even had the conversation.

Always one step ahead of the game!

This man is a menace to society

What was that like? Was it big?

The top layer was salted caramel, then cherry bakewell and bottom layer was white chocolate and raspberry

Aww that's cute! Wonder if he organised the band to play or if they were just there? What would they have played if she'd said no?

Actually if you look closely he is quite well placed for the castle moat. It's probably dangerously shallow...

Shawn appears (fairly briefly) on the latest episode of the BBC’s Travel Show which went out early doors on the News Channel but will be repeated throughout the weekend and is also available here (9 minutes in):

That report talks about Paulton’s Park having “a new junior rollercoaster called Farmyard Flyer” but they were showing footage of Storm Chaser instead. They never get these kind of things right do they.

Shawn has posted his Travel Show segment on YouTube, for those who can’t view the BBC link:
Congratulations to him for getting on such a significant show!

Would it be fair to argue that Shawn is now the face of UK theme parks (or at very least UK theme park enthusiasm) within mainstream media in the same vein that Andy Hine was during the 1990s (for instance, he had quite a prominent presence in the Oblivion documentary)?

I remember the press always used to call upon Andy Hine for anything British theme park-related, but it often seems to be Shawn these days.
