Is this an admission that the pricing isn't working for them ?

I think it's more to do with consumer spending being massively down since the rise in cost of living.

I work in retail (head office) and footfall and ATV is massively down this month.

Thanks for posting this, have ended up watching the series on YouTube, Some great characters and fantastic insight to park operations in the late 90's.
It's a great watch. My particular highlight was the annual foaming of the River Caves. Everyone knew it was staff but no one could prove it. Doubt they'd go so easy on them nowadays!

No more than this being admission that Towers (and the rest of Merlin parks) pricing isn't working for them, what with it being a much larger discount.

At least BPB are offering a genuine discount of £5 off, whereas Merlin advertise half price from the “one the day” price when in reality it’s only £5-10 discount compared to the advance price.

That price is for adult and toddler combined, so if the child should be buying a ticket it's a much much bigger discount.

Well, that would track. Merlin's pricing isn't working for them.

I was referring to the Carex and Kellogg’s discounts as giving half price (bringing AT down to £32.50 so a £5-10 discount on the online price)

The parent and toddler tickets at Alton Towers and Drayton Manor are just another way to fill up CBeebies and Thomasland on term time weekdays, I don’t see it as a “discount” in the same way BPB are doing £5 off, as the toddler tickets can only be bought if a child is with and adult, but do offer a very good price.

If the previous price was working for them as a model then they wouldn’t be offering £5 off. Said model appears not to be working in this shoulder season. Perhaps not surprising given it’s such a big increase from previous years.

Also that has to be one of the lowest budget adverts anyone has ever made. Clearly just filmed on a phone in someone's kitchen!

Another poorly executed Pleasure Beach marketing campaign? Surely not!
It’s a Tik Tok video, they are by definition filmed on a phone, usually using the Tik Tok app. It’s a few second throwaway clip that is uploaded once, not a full marketing campaign to be shown on TV.

It is still an awful clip though. Why they think that looks appetising is beyond me.

I think the pizza advert is a refreshing change. Normally food adverts are the polar oppostite - the food looks great but never tastes as good as you expected from the picture. Here it's like "This pizza looks crap, but actually tastes pretty good"
