Drayton Manor Park

Officially Spring doesn't end until the Summer Solstice on the 21st June, so there's still time.
Here we go again...Officially 21st June is Midsummer, so spring ends six weeks before that, around now roughly.
And back on topic...has anyone stayed on the camp site recently, used to be really laid back amongst the trees, but it seems more corporate now.
Can you get a good nights sleep, or is it noisy at both ends?

We had family on the campsite last weekend and they didn’t highlight any issues.

Back to Shawns update, and hasn’t the pony trek ride been dismantled again now. Hopefully nothing serious there as looked like all the electronics had been added to the track too whenever the video was taken.

Depends if you mean astronomical spring or meteorological spring 😂

The former ends on the 21st of June, latter the end of May. Maybe Drayton are just really keen on stargazing??

Despite an a level in Geography, I struggle with pronouncing meteorological.
Shakesperian, meteorological and astronomical average still brings us back to about now.
Tulips are gone, as are frosts, cuts are down to weekly, this is summer according to this mowerman!

The video I shared yesterday showed that the track is currently going back in. Maybe it was having problems going round the whole circuit (not fully level in places) and the horses were still sat on the grass area. If testing goes well and every workmen works on getting the theming and ride finished off can see it open ready for the 27th or 28th May when the kids are off for a week and most adults get a 4 day weekend.

The track is not a big issue. It is an afternoons work putting that back in. Easily doable within a day if they needed to push.

As for the electronics on the track. That's the bus bar, as easy as the track to pull in and out.

Curious as to why they removed it though.

Just has my Training day at Drayton Manor today. Was a ride Host on the Haunting!!

It's no easy job to consistently touring the Guests through the house, you'd think it'd be simple. Busy, but enjoyable at the same time and interesting to get glimpses behind the scenes of the Attraction and how some of the mechanisms work.

Good luck with your new job Mr Looper.

Cheers for the luck JA :).

Oh, and another thing if anybody's interested, the moving floor is pneumatic powered.

One more thing, does anybody know what Happened to the rides 90s POV by British Theme Park Archive?

I've noticed 2 of his videos are missing from the channel, them being the haunting and his Tinkaboo Factory one.

I wondered that too. Not sure where they have gone.

The old animatronic head used to be pneumatic powered too, this one infact. Which is in theme park archive video. Great picture taken by Matt Wells.
It was pressurised by the same system that does the floor.

He used to sit in the photo frame where the projected face is now projected onto. He was replaced in 2004 with a new animatronic head but the new one was electronic servos doing the movement rather than air.

I always thought the head pictured, was the best one, including better than the projection image used now.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't that head used as the Vicars spirit before the Count Dracula head? By any chance does anybody know what Happened to the heads after the 2016 refurb? Is the Vampire one still behind the portrait, but no longer in use?

Oh boy, what I'd kill for another amimatromic head to replace the projection.

Yes it is the original head. The Vicars spirit. Not sure what happened to them. It could very well be behind the photo frame still not sure.

I assume they were scrapped though.

We appear to have a rebrand.
