Paultons Park: General Discussion
I wouldn't mind an STC that would be quite nice but I still stick with my dream idea for Paultons next coaster which is a duelling woodie, one side a full sized woodie and one side a family style woodie. Still think it would work really well for the target market and give them a new demographic at the same time making the investment less risky.

If they want a new coaster that is a level up from what they already have then one of the new Vekoma STCs would be perfect. Fun, not too forceful, but definitely a thrill.
I don’t see them getting a Vekoma STC when they got a Vekoma family suspended coaster (Flight Of The Pterosaur) in 2016, I think they’d want something a little different.
If you look at what they’ve got there’s a Gertslauer Bobsled, a Mack spinner, a Vekoma family suspended coaster and a family boomerang. What they don’t have is a traditional sit-down thrill coaster.
That’s why I could see them filling that gap with a Vekoma Wildcat (like Fonix) or a Vekoma Space Warp launched coaster (like Formula at Energylandia). They’ve already got a good relationship with Vekoma and their strategy seems to be based on acquiring cloned or off-the-shelf rides so I could easily see them adding a ride very similar to one of those two for their next big coaster if it’s not a woody (though to be fair they probably aren’t in too much rush for another coaster given that there are others gaps such as a water ride or dark ride that they may want to address first).

Anyone's experience at the park in August school holidays? Busy or manageable?

Peppa Pig World can get very busy but rarely more than 45 mins, the rest of the park rarely gets massive queues despite having lots of low throughput rides.Anyone's experience at the park in August school holidays? Busy or manageable?

Thank you, we are not particularly interested in peppa pig world actually. Considering a Friday or Saturday next week

That area does open late on offpeak days but everything opens at 10 in the holidays.

I’ve never queued any longer than about 30 minutes MAXIMUM for any ride at Paultons Park and I’ve been loads of times on busy days and dead days (I only live about 15/20 minutes away). The only exception, as already mentioned, is Peppa Pig World, which can rack up some disgusting queues at times lolAnyone's experience at the park in August school holidays? Busy or manageable?

Hopefully they sorted out the traffic as last August it took over a hour to get in and out of the car park.
The park itself was busy and even after a day and up to 4pm the next day we didn’t manage to get on every ride.

Blimey that is good for school holidays..we were planning BPB yet have cancelled that now so we are pondering Paultons so any advice is great. Thank youWe were there on Friday. No queue longer than 20 minutes. Storm Chaser walk on.

Do Pterosaur whenever it's at its quietest would be my advice, usually first thing. I've waited an hour for it before, but it's a quality family coaster that seems to get short queues mid afternoon. PPW is awful all day everyday but other than Pterosaur and maybe Cyclonator you should be fine park wide. Cobra can also be a painful queue as it's a real slow loader. But catch these at the end of the day and you'll get on quick.
Storm Chaser seems to eat queues. I've never queued more than 15 mins for it and the queue seems to move fast, so don't be too tempted to run to it first thing. I had 3 back to back rides on it walk on at the end of the day last year.
Like every park in the world, going on a Saturday is the definition of insanity. Do mid week if you can, or if you have a "regular" stereotypical job and must go on weekends, do the Sunday instead.

Agreed, we were there in October last year for the halloween event. The park wasn't especially busy but the queue to get out of the car park was just miserable. Three car parks, including the staff car park, all converging to one exit. The park is doing great things and swiftly becoming one of the UK's top theme parks but they really need to sort out their traffic management before putting in any other new attractions.Hopefully they sorted out the traffic as last August it took over a hour to get in and out of the car park.

Everyones obsession on what rollercoaster Paultons should get next makes me laugh, much like Towers I'm not sure a rollercoaster is a major priority for Paultons next big investment. It really is crying out for a dark ride or a well themed water ride to replace raging river ride! and it too much like towers could do with some more flats. Take 4 of the 7 coasters out of it (as the other 3 are very much junior coasters) and there's not a lot else for Teens and above to do! Don't get me wrong I've had nothing but brilliant days out there and I know it's not targeting an older market but that's not saying they can't. With the right investments there's nothing stopping Paultons becoming the stand out park without losing it's family friendly charm.

To be fair, I've not seen this at all. Everyone always mentions the dark / ride water ride need.Everyones obsession on what rollercoaster Paultons should get next makes me laugh
Although with Paultons way of doing things I'd guess there's a strong chance of a new development being a whole new area again, with a few attractions which might include a coaster alongside other thngs that are more needed.
My guess would be a water ride which intertwines with cobra/edge, in doing so theming those rides.

As @pluk says, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Paultons’ next development is an area rather than a stand-alone ride. That’s what they’ve done for the last two, and using that method, I wouldn’t be surprised if both a roller coaster and something like a dark ride or water ride were to be installed. You don’t have to make a dark ride or water ride absolutely massive, and it would still be equally valuable to the lineup.
Even though Paultons’ areas often have a coaster emphasis, it’s not like they overlook fillers either; even though coasters are in their areas, they almost invariably build other types of attraction alongside them.
Also, I don’t think Paultons is overly saturated with coasters. Yes, they have 7 roller coasters, but at least 2 of these could be considered kiddie coasters for only the smallest guests, possibly 3 if you count Cat-O-Pillar. There’s certainly room for them to grow their coaster lineup, in my opinion.
