PortAventura: General Discussion

Hi guys couple of questions!
I went to Portaventura a few years back - I stayed in an on-site hotel and was able to buy an express pass for a good price that lasted the whole trip. Have they stopped this now? Online it seems as though you can only buy 1 day express passes which would work out much more expensive!
Also generally speaking, how busy is the park during the last week of October? Thank you!

Hey, I'm here at the moment. You can buy your Express passes from the hotels at a discounted rate which are valid for 2 consecutive days but for no longer.

Guest numbers wise, in the summer the parks are busier in the week than the weekend however if you're visiting during the Halloween event then the weekends will be much busier than in the week as the majority of the Scare attractions are only scheduled at the weekend.

Well yes, if they don't sort out their shambolic operations (especially resort side but also within the parks themselves) then we're absolutely going to keep criticising them.

Eez closed. Eez buffet.

Forget it mate, PortAventura could cure world hunger, deliver world peace, and build every single ride from B&M’s catalogue, and people on this forum would still be criticising them :p

They could build a Zadra clone next to a Nemesis clone, with a Mondial Shake and a floorless top spin in an area and it'd still be terrible if they operate it poorly

Sorry to break to flow- im staying at Gold River half-board in late sept. Does half board mean I need to return to the hotel for the meal, or does ir include on park food places?

Thanks!

So breakfast will be in your hotel and then you have the choice to either have dinner in your hotels buffet restaurant (Grand Hall) or you can collect a Dine Around voucher from reception which you can then use at any other hotel restaurant or a'la'carte restaurant in the parks. The voucher is for €22.50 each and then you just pay the difference if you buy more.

Hope that helps!

how much do they now charge hotel guests for the discounted fast track? was a great deal when it used to be length of stay unlimited wrist band,

I mean, I obviously meant it to be tongue in cheek, with nods to how people were criticising Red Force (I’m purely talking about the coaster here, not the rest of Ferrari Land) ages before it opened, long before operations even came anywhere near the coaster.

If the same coaster had been planned to open at Europa Park, Phantasialand or Energylandia, I’m very sure that it would not have received the same ridicule as it did, being at PA, despite being a somewhat weird choice of ride.

Do we have any update on the new attraction in Far West? Looking at a visit next May and it would be nice if there was something new to look forward to

It’s thought to be some kind of dark ride or indoor coaster. A show building has now been assembled, and Triotech is apparently announcing a European project soon that is strongly speculated to be for PortAventura.

Triotech also apparently have a Dark Coaster that has been ordered, so there are rumours swirling that PA could be building something akin to Wonder Mountain’s Guardian at Canada’s Wonderland. That would certainly line up with what PA has said about the upcoming attraction (first of its kind in Europe, and second of its kind in the world).

The building for the ride looks very big, it dominates the skyline in the Far West area. It will need lots of exterior theming!

Reading PA fan sites an indoor coaster seems to be the popular rumour. Nothing confirmed by PortAventura yet. All pictures are from Pafans.

If it's a coaster, I am surprised they have put up so much of the building at this point.

Does seem a bit counterproductive for something that'd be better to crane in and build before surrounding with a shed
