Thirteen: General Discussion

I believe the cars slow down a lot more as they enter the crypt now, which means the audio starts to trigger before you have stopped now, as they haven’t reprogrammed it since they slowed the cars down.

That shocking…. Haven’t been yet this year but that with the air cannons not working makes the only decent part of the ride a bit…… pointless

I've been on it a few times this season and not noticed it out of sync - if it was, it wasn't that noticeable. The trains come into the station a lot faster than last season and in this clip you can clearly hear the sound effects kicking in before the trains are in place:

It is out of sync. And actually even more so in that video with it being run as an empty train.

Perhaps the air cannons are working but are programmed into the show. So they trigger at the wrong time for where the vehicles are?

I've forgot where they trigger tbf.

It's my first time going to scarefest this year but from what I've heard night rides on thirteen are rare because of cold temperatures.

I'm going on the 31st for Halloween so I'm guessing it doesn't open much in the evening because it'll be cold?

It's one of those, I'd love a night ride on it but haven't heard many promising things about its reliability around this time, having said that it seems to have issues everytime I'm on park on the bestest of days anyway.

I've been quite lucky at SF as I've been able to ride it in the dark every year I've visited so far. I would recommend waiting til its pitch back before riding for the best experience, but of course the later you leave it the more you risk not getting on it. Just keep an eye on the app as it's starting to get dark. And of course Wicker Man is a great night ride too, and more reliable.

It was spitting with rain on Sunday and all they were doing was playing announcements saying that due to adverse weather conditions they may have to stop the ride. But they never did.

So either something has happened on Monday or genuinely the host is wrong - which I guess is a possibility.

They could just be taking precautions towards the end of the season after the tires have been operating for a season. While they can easily be replaced, Alton Towers would rather air on the side of caution, as we know to well how vicious the media can be.

The tyres are more than likely scheduled to be replaced, while easy, it is not a quick job, so nothing wrong with having a bit of caution until that can happen. Besides, the ride did not actually close in the damp / wet, so this immediately suggests things are not what they were this time last season.
