Only SDC would get the phrase "a blessing" into a formal press statement regarding an accident.

Came across this while researching how much water log flumes loose to wet people... I know, I know...
The article, then the 1 comment debunking is amazing.

Agreed, that is the one "whatabout" to the debunk. But the whole story becomes questionable when you look at the ride system in photos. It would be completely impossible for it to go under water because it's only inches from the bottom of the trough anyway.Anti-rollbacks can and have failed in the past if they are not the correct specification. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the claim out of hand

I think it’s like people that have a restraint that’s a little on the loose side and they are like “OMG!!!! I nearly fell out and had to hold myself in”.
These people probably had the the shock of rolling backwards in to the water and getting a little splash of water on their heads and it’s like “OMG!!!! The boat went backwards under the water and we pinned in and could have drowned!!!!”

Philippines - 2 year old and two parents injured when car comes of caterpillar ride.
Brazil - man dies when zip line support structure collapses mid run. Was filming himself and being filmed from off-ride at time if incident, trigger warning, footage in link.

For the second time in a few days, another accident in the Philippines - boy loses lung being thrown from chair swing ride. Trigger warning - link includes footage of incident, but no graphic injuries shown. Allegations of broken lock on swing seat.

This is awful, so unlucky that he went into the support structure as well! Hope he's recoveringFor the second time in a few days, another accident in the Philippines - boy loses lung being thrown from chair swing ride. Poor lad, not cool that the park are blaming him too - at least so publicly at this early stage.
That is the most extreme ride of the type I have ever seen. There is the engineer part of my brain that can't understand how it happened but I am not at all familiar with the model type.

India - 5 injured falling from ferris wheel, one burnt as they hit power line on the way down.
Australia- inquest into 2018 death of child on Cha cha ride finds operator was incompetent. Not properly trained and distracted by interacting with riders with cuddly toy.
Florida - legal proceedings start into freefall tower death. State is seeking $250,000 fine and lifetime ban for ride opporator. Sounds low by US standards, but I imagine any payout to the family will be much higher.

For some reason my Instagram feed is always full of fairground clips from India. I must have watched one and now that is all that it recommends. But most feature fairs with numerous ferris wheels rotating at insane speeds with no safety whatsoever. Most fairs only seem to have three rides, wheels, pirate ships and knockoff break dances, but duplicated many times.India - 5 injured falling from ferris wheel, one burnt as they hit power line on the way down.

Orlando Free fall.
Training records doctored after the death of that poor young man. Absolutely shocking.

Orlando FreeFall training, inspection documents ‘doctored’ after teen’s death, general manager says
News 6 has now learned, documents about employee training and safety inspections were signed and dated the night of Tyre Sampson's death in March, not in February as the dates on the document suggest.

The thing with those rides is the cars have a shared lap bar which is individually manually locked and unlocked by the attendants (instead of being done electronically by the operator in the cabin) via a lever at the front.Wales - 2 ejected from Twister at Cardiff Winter Wonderland.
