I’m intrigued though by that Tik Tok video of the incident and what the guy is referring to when he says “I knew it, these things are rigged, every single time”.

I'm going to guess the win a massive Toblerone game landed on the only seat noone was sitting at. Again.

Those slingshots do that loads. Seems it isn't really a particularly dangerous occurance. Will be if both sides go at once though!

Yeah If both cords had snapped then it would have been a completely different story. Thankfully not, though!

What the inspection company said was that the cable didn't snap or fail.
It looks like a complete clucking failure to me, all the same.
It was simply a gearbox issue...so that's alright then!
Fudge response from WW,,,safety is their highest priority, so all is fine.
Nothing to see here, all fine, nobody injured, move along now.

Absolutely, regardless of what part of the ride was to blame it’s still an incident where a part has failed and resulted in the ride slamming the passengers towards the structure! It’s not a good look.

Are those rides run on the assumption that both bungees would never fail at the same time or is there something else?

Something rather dodgy happened on the ferris wheel at Icon Park in Orlando last night:

(Source: Kim Conley Scanlon)

We don’t know exact details, but it appeared to be emitting sparks… that doesn’t look good.

To make matters worse, riders were apparently on it at the time…

I honestly don't think that place is going to be open much longer tbh.
